Marlene is a fantastic educator with more enthusiasm than the young adjuncts fresh from grad school. She demands a high work ethic but is there to support you the whole way. There should be two peppers available for this lady, 3 if you're a guacamole kinda person.

I studied abroad with Marlene & her husband this semester in Italy. Our class was on the Geology of Wine, and it was amazing! I love Marlene & Steve. I know not everyone will get to have lab in a vineyard in Italy or get tipsy off wine tastings in the afternoons at Brunnenburg, but they should totally take her science classes! What an amazing lady!

she kept the intro geology class quite interesting. It was funny the day that she reffered to the whole class as sorry asses (long field trip the day after halloween, everyone was hung over)

I took a basic, basic geology course to get my lab science out of the way. Marlene's personal magnatism and enthusiasm for her subject got me through it and kept me interested. My geology-major friends all cite her as a major reason why they chose that major.
