Comment:

I took prof. Goodburn freshman year. In the beginning, I thought that I was going to struggle immensely; however, I was wrong. I have never taken a statistics course before but Goodburn taught the material very well. The textbook was not needed, he tested mainly on his notes, and he rounds up grades. I would love to take him for biostats 2

Comment:

His lectures can be super boring, and he repeats himself a lot, but he is a super fair prof. 3 tests, and he allows you to drop one if you do better on the final, and have 3 graded hw's which you can do with someone else. I did have to teach myself a lot of the material outside of class, but he is always there for help. Would recommend.

Comment:

I'm in Matt's College Algebra for Business students class right now and he's a fantastic teacher. He's a little dull at times, but when he's funny, he's really funny. He knows what he's talking about and if you're a solid math student, you don't even need to go to class. I highly recommend his class.

Comment:

Great professor, easy class. If you score badly on an exam, he will switch your lowest exam score with your final exam score if you score higher on the final exam. Three homework assignments that you can work in groups on, three exams, and a final. Get a formula packet for everything, so little memorization. Highly recommend taking this class.

MATT IS SUCH A GREAT DUDE. He's monotoned and lectures are boring but he knows what he's doing. He's very clear and concise and is willing to help all of his students. Pay attention in lecture and study your homework and you'll be fine. Theres 3 exams, 3 homeworks and a final. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS IF YOU NEED HELP. Overall great guy 10/10

Goodburn is one of the best professors at Duquesne. He is immensely helpful and makes the class material at a level that everyone can understand. His tests are easy and little studying has to be done.

He's a cool guy. You take 3 tests. If your grade on the final is higher than any of them he will bump it up. Before every test there is a hw assignment that covers everything, he goes over it with you after you turn it in. He also assigns practice questions that arent mandatory, dont get the book unless you plan on doing those.

Very boring, but a good teacher. I never did any of his optional hw and i almost never showed up for his class, if you have taken any calc before this class is very easy, he gives a lot of bonus opportunities, and is really chill.

I hate Calc. I failed the first two tests and aced the last two, and I did pretty bad on the final. But if you act like you care about your grade and you are nice to him (say hello once in a while, have a nice day, etc), then it'll come off that you care a lot and he'll help you.

He can be boring sometimes, especially due to the way he talks, but if you can stay awake he actually is a very good teacher. He explains everything really well, and the tests aren't that hard. I never did the optional homework and only read the book when I missed class, and I got an A without too much effort. Great teacher.

This is probably the easiest biostats class at Duquesne. Doing the homework is very helpful. Problems on the tests are similar to the homework. 2 exams and 3 quizzes are given. One of the quizzes is dropped. Last quiz was a take home.

He is very boring, but one of the nicest teachers ever. His tests are really easy and you never really have to go to class. The test questions come straight from the homework, and are never tricky. He is always willing to help if you don't understand something. Plus he looks like Peter Griffin.

His class is extremely easy. Attendance is definitely not mandatory and if help is needed he is always willing to meet with students outside of class. Definitely the most boring class and he does not connect with students very well. Literally just stands in front of the class and talks to himself.
