Professor Warshawsky is amazing. You can tell he is very passionate about the language and content. The class is not super easy, but it's an upper division class so that's expected. The class is very discussion based and if you don't do the readings, you will be very lost. He is very understanding if need be. Class was challenging, but I enjoyed it

Love Dr. Warshawsky! Jewish Literature was one of my favorite classes. Fantastic readings and great discussions. I love how much he engaged discussions to make class more like a conversation.

He makes me not want to learn Spanish. If you aren't completely fluent in Spanish, he will tear you apart and call you out in front of the entire class. He calls on students randomly, and it is difficult to understand what he expects for assignments. Class was more of a presentation of your Spanish skills, not a place to learn and practice Spanish.

Dr. Warshawsky teaches at a pace that operates independently from his students' performance. His syllabus made it difficult to understand what he expected from assignments. He's a passionate lecturer and a friendly guy during office hours, but the in-class structure made the class unbearable. Lots of repetitive group work and cold calls.

By far the most painful class I've taken so far. There is a lot of busy work and not as much conversation as there should be in a high level Spanish class. His Spanish skills are not where I expected them to be, him being the chair of the Spanish department) and he commonly made mistakes. He's really energetic but I will avoid taking him again.

One of the best profs I had at UP. His lectures are engaging, his feedback on everything in the class (written or spoken) is extensive, and he practically drips with passion for the subject matter! He assigns a lot of writing, especially in upper-level courses, but it will improve your writing skills dramatically. A must-take for SPN majorsminors.

Warshawksy's passion shows through every single day, and his classes are some of the few I don't just fall asleep in, hah. While I may not absolutely learn the most grammar, he emphasizes participation and actually ENJOYING the subject over getting a grade (and he also really cares about his studentssubject). One of my favorite professors from UP.

I have not had good experiences with this teacher. He piles on the busy work and made me uncomfortable in class virtually every day. His teaching style is energetic but hard to understand. He utilizes virtually no repetition and my Spanish skills probably deteriorated while I was in his class.

Dr. Warshawsky is extremely nice and welcoming. He has high expectations for students, but he is very helpful and accommodating. The material was taught at a little bit of a fast pace, but if you are even an ok spanish-speaker going in, you will have an easy time learning.

The material can be tough but ultimately he has good structure to his class. His revisions on compositions helped my Spanish writing. His tests could be tough, but fair. The daily homework helps for understanding and a grade boost. Class is engaging but you have to talk to people so can be intimidating. He's a fun professor and I enjoyed his class!

Useless teacher, I learned literally nothing and no matter how hard I try, I cannot see where all his great comments come from! He has no useful lesson plan, uses homework as busywork, and the grades received don't accurately reflect a student's learning.

I don't think I heard him speak a word of English the entire semester which is helpful but at the same time I would miss little details and that would be annoying. Instead of using power points or any interesting looking slides, he used Microsoft Word which is so boring to look at. He is kind of confusing. I didn't like him but most people do!

Prof. Warshawsky is a really nice man. The course work is extremely comprehensive but he makes it a lot more clear than the text book explains it- Show up to class and do your homework and your homework and you'll be just fine.

I took Professor Warshawsky for 302 & 383. He is one of the best professors I have EVER had. A strictly Spanish only classroom & classes that incorporate discussion, writings, and presentation helped my Spanish immensely. He is quirky and keeps the class alive. It is clear that he has a true passion for teaching & helping students. Generous grader.

I took Don Quijote from Prof. W years ago, and loved his enthusiasm for the book and teaching. Just saw he was tenured, and I was very glad for him and thought I'd come here and give him a rating. Awesome professor.

Warshawsky makes learning easy, and there is plenty of in class discussion and particiption, which help you learn the language faster. There is a lot of out of class homework, but it is made up for by how fun his class is. It is easy to do well in his class even if you don't understand every element of the course material. He helps you succeed.

FANTASTIC teacher. Best language teacher you could possibly have. He will make sure you understand and will help you all he can. His class is fairly easy, as long as you do what he asks. Take him for ANY spanish class!

HE is so great! He knows his spanish (he is not a native speaker though). He makes class really interesting and really gets into what he is teaching. He grades very fair and if you improve on a weakness (say grammer in paper) then he will notice and give an even better grade! Take him if possible!
