He's a pretty easy teacher. His tests aren't that hard but make sure you at least skim over the chapters because some of the info from there is on the tests. He gives multiple opportunities for bonus points on test and is very helpful. The subject itself isn't very interesting but if you have to take geology, take it with him.

Really nice guy, likes to joke around a lot. Easy going. I personally couldn't stand the way he talked, seemed to take five minute just to say one thing. Pretty clear on what to study for each exam, explains the labs fairly clear. All n all he's not a bad professor.

Very genuine guy. You can tell he tries to make the class interesting for everyone. Tests aren't too difficult- includes multiple choice and short essay. Weekly quizzes and threaded discussions. Will always help if you ask for it.

He seemed to explain stuff really well. I had him for honors geology and it was really easy. We had all essay test but they were just explaining what we discussed in class. So go and pay attention and you be fine. Enjoy his New England accent!

Easy class. I don't know how I got an A but all the bonus on the tests are extremely helpful. Some of the actual content is confusing. The 2nd and final were the toughest. But they were still easy. He has a review session before the test that is very helpful. He's a good teacher and I hate Science classes!

Dr. Hickey is one of the easiest teachers to get an A with. If you show up to class, pay attention, and go to the SI he puts on before the tests, you will do just fine. All of his assignments and tests have built in extra credit, and they are straightforward and easy!
