Comment:
Prof. Fitz is funny and not demanding, although very disorganized. She cancels class a LOT, but she doesn't make you do make-up work. There are very few assignments, and she grades very easily. The class is mostly discussion, and her topics are very interesting. She assigns readings that you don't really have to do. Overall, easy & chaotic class.

Professor Fitz was my favorite professor of my first semester at William and Mary. She was funny, easy to get along with, quick to take responsibility, and caring. Still, If you are not good with unorganized individuals then I would stray away from this class because although I learned a lot, I did not find the class to follow any set chronology.

Prof Fitz is a super nice woman who really cares about students, but not a great professor. Lectures were hard to follow and rarely referenced/related to assigned readings. We didn't follow the syllabus at all and she was very disorganized. On the plus side, we didn't do more than half of the assignments she had planned so the workload was very low

Comment:
While the class is reading intensive it is very manageable. Professor Fitzgerald posts study guides that consist of vocabulary and questions having to do with the reading. She essentially takes those exact questions to make all of the exams. My one complaint is she can be disorganized at times which could be frustrating.

Loved this class from beginning to end. Professor Fitzgerald's lectures while not powerpoint structured are really informative and actually fun and I've learned a lot through this semester. Get ready to read a lot, you have to read literally all the readings to get a good grade on the tests, but she really cares about you as a person.

Love her! Chillest class I've taken in my four semesters thus far, esp if you just need a random class. Two exams, an easy presentation and a short final paper, very fair grader. Take notes off the reading guides and study with at least one other person, you'll be fine! Material was interesting as well. Videos often, attendance not super mandatory.

I loved learning about different religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Early Christianity, and Islam. For each religion, Prof. Fitzgerald had a guest speaker come speak and teach about the religion. I liked this even though many students didn't like this teaching method. No textbook- readings are printed off from textbooks and are on Blackboard.

I really enjoyed this class. Yes a few speakers were pretty dull but it still meant that every class was different and you were learning the information from specialists. In general Fitzgerald was a good lecturer. The midterm and final weren?t difficult at all, you just need to attend class and pay attention! The reading can be interesting.

She didn't really teach the class. There were guest lecturers for every religion. It was hit or miss with them. Her lectures were sinfully dull. Do the readings, take notes on them and lectures, and do the study guides when you get them. The class is not as exciting as it sounds.

Whenever we get to a different religion, she has a different guest lecturer come in, which is kind of cool. However, some professors are good, and some suck. Not a terrible class, but nothing special.

The class isn't that hard if you keep up with the readings and prepare the study guide that she gives you for each section. There's only one midterm, one paper (not research based), and a final so it's not that bad. I enjoyed the class.

This class is the bane of my existence. Assigns impossible amounts of reading, none of which are relevant. Takes 2 and a half weeks to grade exams. Exam questions are poorly worded, stream-of-conciousness, tricky. Take this class only if you are a sadist.

Fabulous person and a fantastic teacher. She loves what she is teaching and is very learned. Lots of reading and she does expect you to come prepared to class, but she loves to tell stories and have a great time in class - easy to find out of class

Entertaining (ask for her Shut Up Maureen story), but assigns too much reading and most of it is useless - never discussed or used on tests. Essay questions are incredibly vague, and she talks really fast. Still, she seems to be a great person.
