So, cool professor and everything, the class is interesting, but damn, she assigns so much work even she can't keep up with it. Granted, this is an accelerated summer class, but she falls behind on posting the work that needs to be done, so then you're stuck rushing to finish a ridiculous amount of work because she couldn't post it on time.

Comment:

Professor Hill presents as an easy going feminist and is quite friendly. The classes go by quickly. On the other hand she takes a long time to grade homework and papers which leaves you without an idea of where you stand in the class. She also tend to be a bit undependable. She forgets to post quizzes then holds you responsible for them still.

interesting class and there is a lot of work in this class, if you aren't used to reading a lot of long articles (about 2-3 for each class) then taking a quiz on each one, I'd prepare yourself now. its certainly not an easy work load - wouldn't recommend as an easy credit class. biggest critique is she takes way too long grade papers/work

She gets a little sidetracked by stories and off topic ideas and that leads to her not always finishing the chapter in class, but overall she's a good professor. You really need to do the readings though, especially when she doesn't get through everything. 3 tests, 1 paper, and a group presentation.

Dr. Hill is incredible. She is so helpful and interesting. Unfortunately, there was a hugeee amount of work for her Psych of Womens class, but luckily it was all interesting. This is a class that you have to put a lot of effort in to get an A, but I HIGHLY recommend it!

Took psych of women with her. Shes kind and the subject material was interesting, but there was SO much work. No tests, but I would almost rather have them instead of the amount of assignments she gives. You have to do the readings, and attendance is important.

Melanie is amazing and passionate. She is helpful and available outside of class to whoever needs her. Her class is not hard at all but so rewarding for the material she gets us to think about.

Easy and knowledgeable. Took Psy of Women with her; there was tons of reading and weekly quizzes and reaction write-ups. BE WARNED: much of the class is spent on discussions, and you get a lot of different opinions on sensitive topics (abortion, rape). Suggest you avoid if you can't deal with unchecked ignorant and insulting opinions from students

Great teacher who is interested in the material. One of the few classes I really learned something in and it definitely changed the way I view things. She has a reputation for being an extreme feminist but really is not very extreme, but very interesting and has good points that will change your opinions on feminism. I highly reccomend her class

The only thing that bothered me about this class was that she used a powerpoint lecture every day. Otherwise, it was not diffiecult at all. Dr. Hill answers any questions and knows alot. She also gives study guides before the exams. :)

Dr. Hill is a quality professor and multicultural was a great class, with stimulating class discussions. There were a lot of assignments, but they weren't too difficult....I highly recommend this instructor.

Extraordinary professor, took two great courses with her. The problem is that student in this class either don't do the reading or are absent minded of the fact that discussion should revolve around the subject matter and not their personal live. I feel cheated from a valuable learning experience because most of the students fall into this category

I really liked this class. It covers many aspects of psychology and she uses powerpoint to teach it. almost everything you need to know for the test is outlined in the notes and she creates outlines so you know what to study. be careful though when you email her with questions about the content because from my experience she will not answer them.

she is amazing! i absolutely love her. her two kids are adorable too. she is very understanding and the sweetest teacher i've had here. i def recommend her!
