If history, gov., politics, etc. is your thing, you will love this class. His lectures are fascinating, and he is an expert in the field. If this isn't your thing, you will struggle through the lectures and the readings, which are fairly heavy. He is always willing to meet for office hours to answer questions and give feedback. Take the class!

Very knowledgeable with great stories. But his class was entirely based on his book and his ideas. So doing well just means knowing how to put his words on an exam, and how to write exactly how he wants.
