This semester has made me very confident in my research skills, ability to recognize a thesis and develop it. this was the first writing course that made sense, connected to the world around me and engaged me. Dr. Biswas expects college level work but is very clear, knowledgeable and helpful. Her passion for her subject is evident.

Comment:

Simply the best prof at WVC! Cares about students, gives great feedback, returns papers on time, very clear about the syllabus and gives the grading rubric. I am so much more confident about research and the writing process.

Comment:

Prof Biswas is the best, she is really approachable and is ready to help you when you need it. She grades fairly easy, and gives you a good feedback on your essay. Take her class! she gives a lot of time for an essay paper and she often do group work, it helps a lot.

Comment:

Tough, and sometimes comes off as rude or judgmental. However, she gives very clear feedback and makes sure every student if helped, since she usually makes you read your writing aloud in class so she can critique it. Easy A, especially for those who are good with English. She keeps track of absences, though, and will drop you if you're a no show!

Comment:

Professor Biswas is a great teacher! She gives a syllabus listing the schedule for the entire semester to prepare you. She comes off like she would be a hard grader, but if you make her like you, you're set for an A on everything! I would recommend taking her class if you're not very good at English, she was very helpful for future English classes.

She was the sweetest little old lady, she brought up a lot of great group conversations that made us all enter a vulnerable personal place for our papers which made them good. Very engaging. The only thing I struggled with is the amount of paper she had us discussing at once, it was a bit confusing to juggle. Like she said though, this is college

The class involved a lot of writing, revision, research and reading but Dr. Biswas is very supportive and made this a really good experience. It is because of her high expectations that I feel prepared for any future writing course. She is an amazing person as well. Great instructor!

Our entire class often had no idea what she wanted from us, she skips around topics and some assignments have no point to them. Half of the class dropped if not more. I'm good at English so I've had no problem getting A's on the few papers our grade is based on, but she is a little confusing to have as an English professor.

After a semester with other instructors, I realize what an amazing professor Dr. Biswas is. She is organized, returns assignments and homework promptly and gives helpful feedback. She enjoys teaching, it is obvious in the way the class is run. On top of that she is knowledgeable and kind. Best prof at WVC!

She went out of her way to help me during this class as I was struggling that semester with motivation. She held entire classes where we spent the entire time working on our essays. She also took us to the Writing Center to work on our essays.

If you want to learn and are willing to work, Dr. Biswas is the most awesome and amazing instructor on campus. She gives good feedback and is very organized with her classes. She is also very supportive but, expects that you will do your part. The research paper was not easy, but I did it! Now, I feel really confident about responding to prompts.

Biswas may be difficult at times but she is worth taking. Very helpful and understanding. You do have to put work into your essays but the criteria is clearly stated beforehand so you should know what to expect.

If you want to learn how to tackle research and finish a research paper learn with her. This is my third time trying this course and FINALLY, I understand what to do! She walks you through each step, diagrams a sample paper to follow and gives constant feedback. Super teacher, great personality.

The thing with Biswas is that she is not clear about absolutely anything. Essay feedback does not make sense, isn't clear, or isn't there. In class, you will drag through it. The classes have nothing to do with the papers, BUT there are very few papers at all. Some of her in class things are interesting but overall there is no reason to go to class

Dr. Biswas was a great teacher!She was very helpful throughout the year and made sure to go over anything that was confusing us.Clear schedule given on the syllabus at beginning of semester.3 essays 1 research paper 1 midterm and 1 final.Responds back to emails extremely fast and wants all of her students to do well. Class always gets out early!
