Dr Mazur is keeping the CIS department alive. The man is a genius. He leaves good feedback. Only issue I had was that he goes over things quick sometimes and assume we understand. Overall great experience. The way he creates hw and exams, it forces you to learn the material. Gives amazing study guides for exams. Take his classes!

Mazur the laser lol. He's right on point! Tells you what you need to learn. Stay focused! Easy to lose track if you start missing class or mess around. Easy class for programmers. He's amazing on replying back. Literally emails back in 10 min with any help needed. Wish he taught more classes though. Seems like he only teaches 190 now.

Professor Mazur is an amazing teacher. He doesn't force you to pay attention or hound you if you don't turn in your homework, but he does give homework each week. CIS151 is an easy class for those with programming experience, so you can miss a class a week or so and still pass with a decent grade. He knows what he wants to teach and does it well.

I thought professor Mazur was wonderful! He always went over everything and tried to make sure that everything was being understood when teaching new material , lots of in class programs which are super helpful , tests were open book , quite a bit of work : labs & hws but it helped you learn .. I would definitely recommend him!

Before this class i only took CIS 151 with a bad professor and did not learn much. I wasn't a good programmer at the start of the semester. Professor Mazur was really helpful. although he gave a lot of homework it really helps you to learn the material and your programming skills will be improved. Definitely recommend professor Mazur.

He is the best professor in the CIS major. I learned a lot from him and his method of teaching is very helpful. He answered every e-mail in a reasonable amount of time, most of the time it was the same day. Too bad he can't teach every class.

Favorite Buff Sate professor. Speaks clearly, class is structured well and everything he covers in class or the assignments relates directly to the exams. Will have to work for an A but if you come to class and do the assignments, you should be fine. Wish more of the CIS faculty emulated his effort and teaching style.

Neal is the best professor in the department. He will go above and beyond to ensure that you understand the material. All of the tests were open book. The homework was tough but if you stop by his office hours he will lead you to the right answer. Wish I was taking operating systems with Neal, I thoroughly recommend him for this course!

If you email him with a question he gets back to you relatively quick, lectures are a little boring and hard to pay attention to.

I was not a fan of programming before this class. Professor Mazur explains things very clearly, and if you don't understand he's willing to help. He emails back very quickly. Tests are a little difficult and some of the homeworkslabs were too. Your grade is mostly tests (75%) with the rest being from homeworks (20%) and labs (5%).

Professor Mazur is just an awesome teacher, one of the best teachers i've ever had actually. Very clear concise lectures and loves taking questions and trys to help. He grades fairly and will allow you to resubmit and it feels like he wants you to learn. I wish more teachers were like him and I hope he realizes how much students appreciate him.

He's always willing to provide extra help if you need it, his grading is more than fair and the tests are open bookopen notes. Don't procrastinate like I did, and actually do the homework assignments and you'll receive an A without a problem.

Dr. Mazur is freaking awesome! A lot of homework, so MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP TO CLASS or else you'll fall behind. He explains things clearly and gives thorough reviews before the exams. Do the homework and show up to class and you'll pass. Very knowledgeable too. Also does exams open note/open book.
