She seemed condescending if you weren't doing well and was very hard to read; not very helpful although she tried. Honestly, although I loved the subject (Gender & History), I dreaded the class because of the way she handled it.

Truly vicious grader and unpleasant to question (i.e. no matter your approach, she finds a way to tear you apart). Although she was super eloquent when lecturing, sometimes it was painful having to be a passive witness to the birth of Nussdorfer wisdom. Class was a platform for her to exercise her own intellect, not to engage and strengthen ours.

Laurie made me dread waking up for class. The topic started out interesting enough but soon was just ridiculous. Not to put her down, though, I liked her as a person. Just hated the class with a passion. Also the final paper required most work I have ever put into anything - i got a B-.

So passive-aggressive. Loves what she teaches to the point of obsession,leading her to reject almost every opinion presented during the class that doesn't match her own. Eager to help. Grading of essays is based on participation on class rather than content of writing. She needs to learn to be more direct-can't every say what she actually thinks.

Her grading makes no sense. She teaches this 1st year survey course like a survey course, but grades it like some kind of senior-, majors-only-seminar. The grading is totally subjective. You can put in hours and hours of work and still end up with a mediocre grade. Avoid 202 unless you want to work very hard and still do poorly.
