His English is not that bad. Since i m Turkish, too, i have no problem with speech. He has some good shortcuts and interesting solutions for various problems. ı like the way he code :)

i attended class at the beginning but found that he was hard to understand;i didnt get much out of it. so i bought a few c books, i recommend the all in one desk reference for dummies. got an easy A with some self study & no attendence. the tests/projects were definately comprised of material that should be taught *after* being introduced to C.

He explains most of the material very well and I learned a lot in his class, but he has too much expections. Homeworks are hard and take a long time to finish. I have 3 years of oop experience in other langs and I have to say I was sorta challenged by the stupidity of java lang. Tests are open book and relatively easy (don't buy the book).

Unbelievable. This was supposed to be an intro class. The impossible tests and irrelevant homework assignments could only be accomplished if you are already quite familiar with C programming. Spent countless hours studying and writing code but still could not pass his class. His accent is hard to understand and he is very quiet.

It was nice to catch up on my sleep. Unfortunately the guy next to me snored awful loud and kept waking me up. HORRID class, gas prices are too expensive to waste time driving over an hour each way to listen to this guy stumble through another professor's notes. The homework was irrelevant and FAR too hard for an intro class. Total waste of $$!!

This is an extremely difficult class unless you have c programming experience. Take Orooji he is WAY better than this guy or Guha. It is still not easy but at least you have a chance.

This teacher is hard. Take Arup Guha's class instead seeing how I hear he is a better teacher and Kursun gets all of his notes from him. The homework assignments get too hard at the end of the term to the point where they're not even worth the time. I suggest taking a different course if at all possible.

If you can, take Arup Guha's class instead. Kursun's accent is very hard to understand. He uses Arup's notes and programs. He does not know them well. If you are in this class, ask Arup if you can sit in on his class. The only reason I passed was because the final grade was curved. He writes the tests, which have very badly worded questions.

I think he's a great teacher and he is very helpful in office hours. I think complaining about there being free response questions on the exam where you have to write programs on paper is just amazing. Hello! It's C programming, you should be able to write a program. Make sense? I also fail to see how using Arup's lecture notes is relevant at all.

Comment:

Speaks somewhat poor English. Often muddles concepts unnecessarily, and sometimes arrogantly refuses to answer questions correctly. Tests were somewhat more difficult than Arup's section had. Honestly, though, he could have been a lot worse- he just looks awful in comparison to Arup. So if possible, take Intro to C with Arup Guha instead.
