Comment:

His passion for literature was evinced by his teaching. He could be brusque, but he knew his subject extremely well and loved working with students who shared his interests. He was a hard but fair grader, and he gave respect where it was due. I took five courses with him; he passed away in December, but he remains a great inspiration to me.

Comment:

Rude & unhelpful. While handing back papers and exams, he had a system for subtly announcing students' grades to the class. If he said your name and added "very fine", you'd gotten an "A". If he said "Good", you'd gotten a "B". If your name was followed by silence, it was a "C" or below. Hopefully he's matured since then, but I very much doubt it.

This guy made me hate english he was the first C i have ever made he hated all my essays ive never gotten a C on a essay till i took his class and i consider myself to be a good student i come to class do the work and learn but this guy is hard and will make fun of you for not having the same interpretations of the stories as he does take dieter!

Dr. Enright is NOT for the lazy, show up to class, and get a good grade kind of teacher. He expects you to read the assigned work and know it. That said, he is very approachable and was always willing to help and mentor me as a student. He looks a bit scary but his heart is a gentle as they come. More importantly than that, he is a great teacher if

He knows alot about what he teaches, but he seems to now know how to teach at all. He doesn't accept any other interpretation of work except his own. He humiliates you in front of class and then continues to ridicule you on Facebook. His expectations are way too high. I've never felt more stupid. I would not recommend him to anyone for any class.

this guy is intelligent but ignorant. he's smart about literature and ignorant when it comes to helping the student. he's a teacher but doesn't know how to teach. all he does is criticize you when you ask a question and makes you feel stupid in front of the whole class. if he sees you laughing he'll ask you to share the joke with the whole class.

Sure, he looks kind of scary, but he's really a nice guy. The main thing he wants is to share his knowledge of the things he loves with other people who are interested in them. Not for the lazy though - passing Dr. Enright's classes requires work. You want an easy class, take Lord Cowlishaw or Faulds. You want to learn? Stick with Enright.

Dr. Enright is very intelligent, but he is also the hardest professor I have ever had. He is very cruel--probably the cruelest professor I have ever had. If you make him mad, he'll either flunk you or he'll try to get you kicked out of school. He expects too much of his students.

He is an amazing teacher. You need to do all the reading but be willing to make comments too. He loves that. I have never met a man who know so much. He has 2 cats, loves to smoke, steak & mushrooms & shakespeare. He's such a cuddly teddy bear. You will love him.

Had him for Hist of Eng Lg and for Horror of Lit. He did a great job in both classes, particularly the lit class. If you get the chance to take a class with Dr. Enright you most definitely should!
