Comment:
Dr. Savastano is probably my favorite professor I've had so far during my 2 years at SHU. He's definitely wacky and out there, but he is such a funny and sweet guy. His lectures are long, but most of the time he lets you out early. The only homework for the class are a few papers and they're short. The only exams are the midterm and final.

Professor Savastano is such a caring and sweet prof. There are 2 papers, midterm and final and that's it. You should get the textbook but you don't really have to read it to pass the class. He goes over everything during class and posts the slides on blackboard. He is a wacky guy and if you ask questions, he will make class interesting.

Paper, Midterm, Paper, Paper, Final, Participation. From the jump, if you can write a good paper and find a way to be involved in conversation, youre looking at a B in the class. He gives study guides for the midterm and final, so if you study well for those exams, youre looking at an A.

Professor Savastano is the least helpful professor I have ever had in my entire life. His power points consist of random pictures and questions that will not benefit you when studying. His lectures are so boring and uninteresting. It is just not an encouraging learning environment. If you have to take this class, DO NOT TAKE HIM.

There are 3 papers, a midterm, and a final. His study guide for the midterm was misleading but if you go to class and pay attention you should get at least a B on it. As for the papers, as long as you keep them interesting, you should get a good grade. He has the most amazing stories and he is full of so much knowledge. I have learned so much!

The class itself is so excruciatingly boring , so unless you have a genuine interest in reading about world religions back to back do not take this class. This prof makes it no better, all he does is talk through his vague power points (so be prepared for heavy note taking if you want to pass). His test review was obnoxious and misleading.

Prof Savastano was a good. His lectures could be a bit boring, but he slides a few jokes and interesting comments in there. Lots of documentaries watched in class. 2 short papers, 1 longer one. Multiple choice midterm and final.

Dr. Savastano is an amazing professor. Fun, interesting, and usually helpful. His courses typically have a fair course load, but the assignments are usually interesting, making them a bit easier to complete. Also, his assignments really make you think, but there aren't many usually. But overall, great. Take him whenever you can

Hands down one of my favorite professors. He has a wealth of knowledge--It is pretty mind-blowing. He's hilarious and will keep the class interesting. His assignments are tough but they help exercise your brain and engage you in a lot of critical thinking. There are a ton of readings that have to be done, but they're mostly very interesting.

His lectures are interesting and I actually learned alot. If you're willing to put in some work you'll get a good grade, it's nothing too demanding. Your grade is based on participation/class attendence, midterm, final and analysis papers. Take him if you can!

Very nice guy. Beginning of the semester was rocky but once he started relating the readings to what he knows best, anthropology, the class became very interesting. Not very difficult, just do enough work to get by and you'll be fine. Quirky personality, but definitely entertaining.
