By all means AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!! You do not learn anything. You just copy what he types. Assignments and project directions are incredibly vague. Class is very disorganized. He is hard to communicate with inside class and via email. I have basically had to teach myself the entire class from the textbook and YouTube videos. Again, AVOID Professor

First of all, he does not communicate well with the students. He doesn't have a course schedule so you can't prepare for any upcoming assignments or lectures and on top of that, his requirements for each assignment are very loose and could be misinterpreted. Second, he thinks he's a genius and is very condescending to students. Hate this teacher.

First day, every seat fill, 2/3's way in, 75% of seats empty. One day he brought up the work of students in the class and said why they were wrong. On multiple occasions he forgot his projector was on and displayed grades and emails. And to top off the year, he was 40 minutes late to the final. didn't respond to emails or texts about the final.

Lectures are pointless, long, and non informative. You never actually learn how to code by just typing what he does. He really doesn't care about you fully understanding. The final is on paper and you have to hand write code which is a ridiculous expectation. Tests are unclear and are based off no real content, just stuff he thinks of. What a waste

ITS A TRAP!!!!! He appears to be helpful and knowledgeable on the first day of class, however, he doesn't know how to teach a Database course. He has multiple English Degree's but has trouble speaking and understanding the English language. AT ALL COSTS DO NOT TAKE HIS COURSE. You have been warned.

Gives little to no feedback. Course has little continuity, and the info with the most emphasis is not what is tested. Test questions are in broken English which would be understandable if he didn't have multiple degrees pertaining to English and language. Students in the class will feel helpless on tests and as if their grade is out of their hands.

First day of class he had this grin on his face like it was his first day in america. That changed rather quickly. Im not sure how he is qualified to be a teacher. Its like the interviewer must have been tripping balls. All he does is read from the slides and makes you mimik what he does. 5 mins late and he wont let you in the class. Stay away !

Do not take this class with this professor, he reads exactly off of what he puts on blackboard and just wastes your time when you go to class. All you do is type what he types, and die of boredom. You learn nothing, and then homework is easy yet directions are vague. He is also difficult to communicate with.

This is a teacher that if you need help, Go to him. Asking him a question after class wont really work. Showing him what you dont understand in his office will be worlds of help. He knows what hes talking about. Very Nice. Hard to understand in lecture. Try to borrow the book or use a ebook before buying/renting. He uses outdated books.

Dr. Ma is a nice guy. If you ask questions and participate in class, he will be more likely to help you out if you are in trouble. His english isn't that great. Overall I liked the class.

I'm really surprised at all the bad comments Dr. Ma has gotten on here. His class was so easy and he will work with you/help you out if you have any problems or questions. He really cares about his students learning the computer programs. He even lets you turn in assignments way past the due date (pretty much you have all semester). Recommended!

Dr. Ma says easy to lessen intimidation. Once the lesson is learned, it is actually pretty easy. I currently have an awesome job, and I have Dr. Ma to thank. Awesome Person and instructor!!

Prepare for a nightmare. I've never felt so stupid for asking a question in my life. He will tell you "That's easy!" and remark about how you just aren't paying attention or you would understand. If you like to ask questions, be prepared to be singled out for the rest of the class. He will ask the hardest questions of you just to watch you fail.

Dr Ma is has a very good understanding of the concepts of databases. I took CIS 3660 with him, if you want to pass this class do your assignments well and ask him questions whenever something is unclear. He is very helpful and reviews quizes before taking them. Be very attentive to his instructions.

Had Dr. Ma as an instructor for three courses (CIS 3660, CIS 3650,CIS 4680), really helped to clear my confusion, and was excellent in giving academic and career direction. Very polite and proper natured. The best I've had!

homework and project scheduling makes no sense, horrible communication skills, his knowledge of the course material is questionable, shouldn't be teaching at an American university with his dreadfully poor grasp of the English language.
