Comment:

Best math teacher at Clark. No comparisons. He took an interest in my education and my personal life. He even remembered my Birthday. I always came to his office for questions and he talked through them with me. I rearranged my schedule each quarter to have him as my math teacher. I had him for 095, 103, and 111. I passed with a B or above in each.

I did not like this class. Ray doesnt explain anything. Attendance is not mandatory which is nice but there are random in class quizzes which are a good size of your grade. He teaches directly out of the book so you can tell that not much thought is put into his teachings. To take this class with ray I would recommend having alot of self modivation

Attendance is not mandatory, but I suggest you do come to classes because there are in-class assignments! His tests are okay, you just need to know what to study! Overall, pleasant experience in his class, but he doesn't offer extra credit other than the six extra points for doing HW.

Ray Burns is an AMAZING teacher. He is super clear and helpful. I stink at math, however I did super well in his class. I would highly recommend him, especially if you struggle with math.

Does not answer questions clearly, just repeats himself over and over expecting you to finally get it instead of attempting to explain in a different way. During lecture, he just copies the book. There is rarely any in depth teaching from him. Unless you are strong in math, I don't recommend him.

Mr Burns is awesome! He explains things very clearly and helps you understand. I had Wolford the previous quarter in the same class and received a D learning nothing. Burns is WAY better at teaching. Its like I never took the class before and am learning it for the first time. I am currently receiving an A. Burns is AWESOME!

He goes page by page in the book and just uses the books examples. I could do that at home. The biggest problem is that unless your good at math and can do it in your head it will be difficult to follow. If your someone who has to do step by step to understand DONT TAKE HIM. HE WILL NOT BE HELPFUL TO YOU!

Another great term with Burns. He is by far my favorite teacher at Clark. He teaches in a way that makes it easy to learn. Wish he would teach Calc.

He went really fast and wasn't very helpful when I had questions. He tries to explain things the same way over and over rather than try to explain in a different way so that you might obtain a better understand of the concepts.

Took him for math that is supposed to teach us how to teach kids. What he says in class is completely different from what he puts on the test. He actually wrote on one students test "not how we did it in class" and gave the student no points for that problem even with the right answer. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

I took this class for review so the material was easy, but Mr. Burns was very concise and organized with the class. He is wonderful at helping explain things to students one on one, and doesn't waste your time. Generally he let us go early but we always had the option to stay and finish our work with him and the class. This class was a perfect mix

The best teacher ever... the best! very easy understandable make the course simple and fun. as long as you do your homework and attend the class i had different teachers before and hey you will not go wrong by getting in a line or waiting list to his class He is awesome at doing his job and you will learn only what you need to know hurray!

Explains material very well, this class took most of my time this quarter to keep up with everything. Even doing that, I still barely passed the class. He's an extremely hard grader on the tests.....I personally would not take a class with him again.

Comment:

Mr.Burns was an awesome teacher. I was in trouble of failing the course, but after meeting with him during his office hours he did some math (go figure) and talked me into sticking with it. He is very good at explaining things and cracks little jokes here and there, but if you still don't get don't be afraid to ask he's more than happy to help you!

He is really great. Not too interesting, but he's great at teaching and making it so everyone can understand. The southern accent is annoying, but other than that I think he's awesome.
