Comment:
Professor Marksbury is my favorite professor at Tulane. He pushes students to think beyond the confines of their comfort zone. He is a super-smart, experienced, and easy to understand the professor. He treats students as equals in his small and intimate class. His passion and straightforwardness make him a very unique and special professor.

This was the second class that I've had with this professor and he's definitely one of the best at Tulane. This class was small, so there was a lot of individual attention and opportunity to interact directly with the professor. Although attendance is not mandatory, It's important to come to class to do well on the tests. 10/10 would recommend.

Professor Marksbury is a nice man. However, this class consists of him standing in front of 6 students listing random names and dates, without any Powerpoint or guide to refer to for studying. It's an easy A, but tests require a lot of work because of his lack of detail. He gets frustrated if people miss class because of the crazy small size.

Stay Away from this class. $1000 down the drain. You will not receive your first grade until your midterm, which happens to be well pass the drop or refund dates. Lectures are long 3 hours, plus 3 books to read, papers are long. All tests are short answerlong answer , no multiple choice or TF. So your subject to his grading.

I've never received a 'C' until I took this class. His exams are on the books and lectures. I am not kidding you, no matter how much you write on your essays, they will not be good enough. GOOD LUCK.

He was a moderator of a Hawaii trip with Tulane I went on. Great guy, funny, interesting, pretty laid back. Definately made the trip worth it.
