Comment:
Incredibly boring. Barely explains anything so don't expect to actually learn about the subjects. His descriptions of assignments are extremely vague. All of the quizzes & tests are online. He obviously doesn't put much effort into teaching. It's a very easy class to pass but i wouldn't recommend it.

This class had some difficult material and some weeks there were several assignments due. However, you have a full week to complete every assignment. We met once a week to do group labs. There were quizzes every week but they were based on the weeks reading. There were 3 exams this quarter and a final exam.

If you take this class, be prepared for a ton of homework. It's not that the assignments are super hard, they are just worded in a way that is really confusing. Mackay emails back fairly quickly but doesn't always answer your question. Labs are 9-14 pages long and take a few hours each. Take this class if you only are taking a few credits at a time

Lots of work in this class. If you have a Mac be prepared to use school computers as he uses a lot of simulators with JAVA and they are not MAC compatible which was very frustrating. 2 presentations are required one on a homemade solar water heater the other on an atmospheric case study but can work in groups. Lots of extra credit offered.

I liked the online portion of the class, but the in class felt like highschool busywork and he talked more about physics then meteorology . He is very bland and dull to listen to. Class is designed to get an A out of however as all tests are open book.

Overall a good teacher. Labs are good, but he is all over the board when talking. Once you know what he is talking about he is very helpful. Class is laid out well online. Tests are tough, but the are OPEN BOOK! Good idea to do the weeks homework the night you get home from lab, concepts will be fresh in your head. Provides a lot of resources!

I took his Meteorology 101 hybrid class. This subject was not easy for me however he was always available to help. He definitely loves this subject and gets excited about it and wants to help everyone.

Very helpful and lenient, if you for some reason don't turn in an assignment on time, he will still accept it the next day without deducting points. The simulators were most useful for me for helping learn physics.

This professor is extremely caring and helpful towards each one of his students! Even if his lectures can sometimes be confusing because of some lack of preparation on his part, it is very easy to clarify information with him through outside communication.

Bob is a great teacher. Took the summer Met class and got a good grade. He is available to answer questions and offers help. He is a bit aloof but in an endearing way. He is an awesome science professor.

This is a difficult class if you are not familiar with Science. Thankfully Mr. Mackay is patient and makes plenty of time for his students. He is a wonderful teacher! He responds to emails quickly, Is in his office the hours he says he will be. I would take one of his classes again especially if I was worried about Science because it is hard for me

Cool science Professor who cares, his course is set up for success even if you struggle with some of the material. He is super helpful, prompt with email, and has a low key teaching style what allows freedom to learn from mistakes. The class is a hybrid so students meet for lab only, the rest of the course is submitted online.

I don't even have the book for this class but because this class is online and is so easy to understand, you don't need the book. He walks around during labs helping people and won't let you go until the lab is perfect. But this isn't a bad thing. It keeps your grades up since the labs are always perfect plus you can study off of them.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CLASS!! It's interesting, and REALLY easy. I hardly opened my textbook and got a good grade. He is also reasonable about working to make this an entirely online class for the right reasons. He is also very helpful and prompt about returning emails.

Fun professor. Light-hearted and good humored. If you have BASIC algebra skills, go to class, and do the work, you'll get an A. Lab work is often fun. He does seem to go off on tangents about things that are way over the class's head, but it's usually interesting. I'd take this class again.
