Comment:

Chose Dr. Reid as my mentor for research and I had a great experience. Previously had him for Ethics so, he already knew me before. I was able to establish a more stronger faculty-student relationship so, I learned a lot from him. So, choose your mentor wisely. Quizzes were easy, hardly any worksheets, there are oral presentations.

Dont think this is an Easy A class. You will be split into groups and each topic will be talked about for three class periods. Basically, a quiz and handout every single week and you will present with your group every third week. One big project at the end. Fill in the blank, short answer quizzes. Dr. Reid is very sweet though.

Awful class. Dr Reid is not good with technology, therefore the online portal where you get materials for the class are a complete mess. All of his "practice exams" thus far have had several errors on them so beware trying to learn/practice off of them. Lastly, there is no textbook, just his confusing lectures and his confusing powerpoints.

Comment:

I really enjoyed Medical Ethics however, every week there was a quiz on fridays, 1 or 2 worksheet (3-6pages) due every monday, presentations every wednesday. It was a lot of work that personally I feel it should have been more than 3 credits. Dr. Reid is really sweet and his lectures are very informative.

Mr. Reid is a kind person and understands life does happen. However, I would not recommend his class to students unless you really have a love for biology. Mr. Reid definitely knows what he is talking about, but his quizzes were extremely hard.

Dr. Reid hardly explains how to perform the labs, or even expectations for the course. He didn't even introduce himself on the first day of class. His lectures are very quick and confusing. Quizzes are every week and are extremely difficult. Avoid at all costs.

Dr. Reid is a really nice person. He really wants everyone to do well. His tests were extremely tough. His lectures were very long. Alot of information for a 30 question test with a mixture of multiple choice and fill in the blank questions. He was definitely willing to help at any time whether he was on campus or at home.

He is an extremely helpful professor. He really wants everyone to do well and will take time the time to help you. He understands that you may have an off day and doesn't judge you by your grades. I had him for multiple classes and although the material is difficult I learned a lot. He is extremely intelligent. His jokes are bad but witty!

A+ prof. Had him for general bio lab--once you get past the corny jokes you realize he really knows what he's talking about. Ridiculously helpful as well, to the point of being annoying at times; whenever I saw him he asked if I needed help with anything.

grades based on how much he likes you. seriously. keeping up with work and studying does not pay off in this class, and don't expect to learn much. labs are ridiculous and he doesn't clean them up afterwards - expect the materials to sit out all semester. terribly corny jokes. avoid reid at all costs!

Lecture notes he provides are poorly formatted and abbreviated. Tests have many "hypothetical" questions that are impossible to decipher.Labs are too long, and require many, many hours to complete. There is no dialogue or discussion ever in class, and he often berates us for not answering "questions" quickly enough. Not helpful. Retire, already!

Tests are hard and full of surprises more often than not. But he is extremely kind and helpful on a personal level if you take the time to communicate with him. It may take some time to adjust to his testing style & format... He really knows and enjoys what he is talking about though. Can be very passionate and entertaining.

He is a great person. Bad Tests!! Its like studying all night for one thing and taking a test on it in Japanease. Its in code!!
