Ronald Taylor is the best. I actually understand the course because he goes into details about the lessons. Also you have to show up to his class because he takes attendance, and you have to purchase the book to do most of the homework.

Dr. Taylor knows is material, but unfortunately the learning curve to understanding what he knows and tries to teach can be like learning to play EVE Online - daunting. The math isn't too bad, but it's definitely something one has to be on top of, so show up for lectures, get help, and do the homework, and the pain will be more bearable.

Don't let wright state fool you. The undergraduate listing for this course IS a graduate course. If you sign up for this class you will have to study hard and pay attention, but in the end you won't learn anything.

Dr. Taylor is really a good professor. While his lectures are pretty boring, I can't blame him with the material hes covering. He will occasionally go on a tangent, so read the book and actually understand what's going on before hand. If you go to him for help, have work and he's usually more than willing to assist. The class isn't hard overall.

You'll learn more from recitation than you will from lectures. He does teach the content, but not very clearly. The tests are very difficult, and he makes the first one the hardest so you'll study way more for the later ones. Exams are curved, and self-study is crucial to success. He's rarely helpful in office hours. Homework way easier than tests.

Comment:
Do not be confused by the other reviews. Overall he is a very poor professor. His lectures are long and boring. Exam average are very low, with a small curve. Very high failure rate so he will curve you at the end. Often times his office hours tend to be a waste of time because he will confuse you more than what you were before on a problem.

Dr. Taylor seems to be a decent human being, but his teaching style just didn't work in this class, especially if you wound up with a TA who really didn't care about teaching. Tests were tough but passable if you spent time with the material, and he was always very helpful during office hours - much more so than during lecture.

Lectures are long, and sometimes completely useless. Nice guy who cares how students are doing. Tests seem to be completely different from homeworkquizzes, which is always annoying. Make sure you do ALL the homework and do well on the quizzes and you should be fine. He curves a small amount on tests.

Comment:
It's hard to pay attention in lecture when the subject just isn't that interesting. That being said, the class covers a challenging subject, so be prepared to work hard if you want to understand the topics. The education you get from the class depends mostly on the quality of your TA. Go to TA office hours. Then go to Taylor's office hours.

Ronald Taylor is an awesome professor. Many people find his monotone voice to be boring during lecture, but if you pay attention, there is no way to fail. The examples are easy and the exams are everything he goes over in class. He is very repetitive which may be boring but pay attention and you will learn a lot.

Is a nice professor but just did not seem to know the material well. Would give problems on quizzes/exams that he never had taught. Would forget where he had left off from the previous lecture or what he had even covered. He is really open to feedback and does try to adjust accordingly. Would have been lots better if he actually used the text book.

Overall a nice guy, but unfortunately lacks the knowledge to teach the class. He often confused himself while trying to solve problems.Grades aren't always updated in a timely manner. Attendance isn't necessary in lecture(it is in recitation), but I recommend going. Topics in lecture are often questions in exams, and are usually only brought up once.

His lectures will make you fall asleep, they are boring, he talks monotone. He is very stale and boring, and his lectures do not help you do homework at all and won't really help you on exams. His exams are random (questions are super random and confusing) VERY STRESSFUL CLASS.
