Comment:

Im unsure of the hotness category, so I did not respond. Dr. Webb was/is the most influential thought leader of my education and career. I graduated in 1990. I keep his text, and often share his wisdom. Ive combined his work with Dr. Stephen Covey, whose family I have taught. Dr. Webb prepared me to recognize injustice, no matter the platform.

I had Webb for an online research methods class at the doctoral level. He's been one of the best online instructors I've had at UF, holding weekly online sessions and sending out periodic explanatory emails. He was quick to respond to requests, and his feedback was helpful.

I had Dr. Webb for two graduate level courses, Sociology of Education and another. He was insightful,clear,helpful,and totally respectful of hard-working dedicated students.I have over 270 college credits and consider Dr. Webb one of the top 5 professors I had.

Dr. Webb has an amazing amount of interesting knowledge that he shares with the class through his teaching and through our assignments. However, his grading is quite subjective; if he LIKES you, he likes your work. Too bad, because otherwise I would recommend him!

Great lecturer. Tells great stories. Knows everything. Funny. Teaches on two levels. 1) Sociology of Ed material. 2) That knowledge is constructed & shapes perceptions. Disciplines are socially constructed too. They blind you or help you see, depending on how you used them. This is a great course, but it will change your mind.

Comment:

Very knowledgeable and interesting to study with. Those who said he is malicious and will stab you in the back, however, are correct as well. He wielded power unfairly. Though he had a lot to offer and learn from, he was not trustworthy nor loyal to students.

I consider it a rare privilege to have a teacher of this caliber. His knowledge is extensive, both broad and deep. I eagerly signed up for a second class. Regrettably, his last.

It saddens me to read anything less than an outstanding rating for this wonderful man! He was absolutely the very best professor I had in my seventy two hours of earning an Ed.S. in School Psychology. If you are an open minded, higher level thinker you will truly gain insight which can be life changing. Don't miss this opportunity!

Huh. I really loved this prof. Learned a lot, challenged, eye-opening... I didn't find him malicious at all. I am inclined to think that rater got a bad grade for underperforming. I don't intend to be unkind, but I know Dr. Webb rewards students who remain involved in the class, in my experience he commits to the degree that the student commits.

A sneaky and malicious professor who has an all-consuming, love-hate obsession with socio-economic class distinctions. A smiling, hateful phoney who harshly penalizes all students who do not give their souls over to his erstwhile cult leadership, and regurgitate his venomous mantras.

Dr. Webb wasn't teaching for awhile...now he's back along with his inspirational teaching style and high expectations of his students. Take him if you want to work hard and be inspired. Great prof, imho.
