Comment:

Dr. Eichler is a lovely professor. She's funny and she enjoys hearing students' opinions. Her classes are not a joke, so if you expect to do the bare minimum and get a decent grade you probably will not. She's is very well versed in history and I appreciate her a lot! She always knows what she's talking about.

Comment:

Probably the most condescending professor I've ever encountered. Whether you've ever spoke to her in the past or not, she treats you like a child when asking the simplest of questions. I've never seen a professor treat students like this before, it's basically the strongest stereotype of boomer baby hates millennials and their darn technology.

Comment:

Took this course online during the spring. Eichler enjoys teaching the subject but the online lectures can be very long. As I was hoping for something more flexible, it took up more time than some of my nursing courses, with all the reading, lectures, and quizzes. Essays are 60% of the exam grades which sucks but are graded by discussion teacher.

Comment:

Professor Eichler is an amazing educator. She knows what she is talking about, her lectures reflect this, and her class is incredibly well organized. She can be funny, but takes her work and her course very seriously. Overall, I think she is my favorite professor here at the University of Akron.

Comment:

AWFUL. Took as a summer class to get Humanities out of the way. She was terrible. 5 weeks of annoying quizzes and reading. She crammed everything she does in 15 weeks in 5. Every quiz and lecture everything. Ridiculous we had 6 quizzes a week on top of 4+ hours of lectures and 3-4 discussions. Don't ever take as an online summer. Ridiculous.

An effort Easy A, but she's arrogant. She just says things that are absolutely cringeworthy such as "maybe Plato had a point. With some of the papers I grade, some people are just stupid." Educators should never say that out loud. Its a good way to make your students feel bad.

Took this prof for Gen Ed Humanities, and I really enjoyed it. She's a little intense sometimes, but it's just passion. She really helps you understand the material, and gives you everything you need to be successful in her class via springboard. Overall, I really enjoyed her and if you have to take humanities, I would recommend taking her.

Comment:

Only used textbook for papers, not for studying (except for back of book). Take good notes in lecture. Tests are ID and Essay, and she gives you tons of options. Papers are annoying; she never gave any feedback on response papers. But tests are easy if you studied (only 2). Focus on the main people and events and not things barely covered.

Not a bad lecturer for humanities, but the main thing to do is get a good discussion teacher, lecture teachers can only do so much, discussion teachers do the tests, quizzes and papers so really worry about them.

Comment:

Mrs. Eichler was fun to listen to and I enjoyed her side stories about architecture. Your discussion teacher will end up grading your assignments though. I had Mrs. Chapman, who I would recommend. All the tests were pretty easy with the exception of the final. I read mostly Sparknotes for the literature and didn't have a problem.

Comment:

Mrs. Eichler is a great lecturer! Her lectures are very interesting and informative. She doesn't take attendance, but like she always says, if you don't come to class you won't do well. Lecture is just as important as discussion. She is very strict about her policies, but just follow them and you'll be fine. Definitely recommend!

She's great. Loud voice that carries well in those big lecture halls. Very clear and kinda dumbs the material down a bit, so if you're not dong well it's because you're not showing up

A fantastic lecturer. I have never learned more from a lecturer than I have so far from her. I love how she doesn't tolerate immature students disrupting her class. Buy her outline (or print it off) and take good notes.

Had Professor Eichler for lecture. She knows her stuff and her lectures are NOT boring! I highly recommend taking her for HWT lecture. You can print out her outline for lecture. It will make note taking much easier.
