Comment:

An extremely nice and outgoing person, ENVS 1030 in general is not a tough course so I barely went to any lectures. However, it is impossible not to like Shelley, and she's pretty flexible with deadlines if you have a good enough excuse. Anyone who puts in a bit of effort will do just fine in this class

Comment:

Fantastic teacher. She values being fair and considerate to the entire class. She organizes the course so that there is flexibility with due dates and lecture material. Was always helpful and eager to hear your thoughts in and outside of lecture. Encouraged you to participate in class. My favourite class.

Shelley is absolutely wonderful! She is approachable, passionate about her subject (she's a forest biologist) and really helpful. She does indeed waste a little bit of time, re-telling the same stories all over again but overall she is fantastic, worth knowing. Introductory course to environmental sciences with her was a pleasure!

Shelley is one of the most amazing professors I have ever had the pleasure of learning from in university. She truly cares about her students and ensures that everyone understands the material, especially since students come from many different ecology backgrounds. Make it a point of taking a class with Shelley before you graduate from Guelph!

Shelly is a really frustrating professor to have when you're in your upper years at university. She wastes a lot of time discussing things that were made perfectly clear to students in their early years at university and adds juvenile elements to projects such as turning a presentation into a mock debate format.
