I have taken multiple classes with Dr. Paul (aka DP). I'm not gonna lie, the first class I ever took with him was rough. However, once you figure out his M.O, you will realize how caring he is. He really wants you to LEARN and succeed. He's tough, funny and VERY sarcastic. You have to work for your grade and you will come out of his class smarter.

Comment:

Dr. Paul is by far the most amazing professor I've ever had. With that being said, he is also the most difficult professor I have ever had! The lectures are amazing, but you honestly should memorize just about every term, concept, and study to get a decent grade on exams and in the class. Extremely hard but very worthwhile!

Dr. Paul is AMAZING. His expectations are clear, and if you follow them, you'll do fine. He doesn't allow tech in class, but he goes slow enough so you can write down all the info you need. Bc of this, it helps you pay better attention. If you miss class you're screwed, so don't skip. His personality is strong but his passion for teaching is clear.

One of the most entertaining classes I was in. Great professor to listen to in long lectures. Exams are extremely difficult unless you read the book. He is super funny and makes general psych entertaining

Dr. Paul is by far one of the toughest psych professors on campus, however, taking his class only benefits you. He knows his stuff and he challenges you. He will always work with you if you put in the effort. He genuinely wants his students to do well. Take him, but be prepared to WORK HARD. If this class isn't a requirement, don't take it!

Very funny guy but a very hard grader. Only scores come from tests that REALLY affect your grade!! Have to study a lot to get a good grade. Doesn't cover all the material in class so you have to do a lot of work on your own. But gives good lectures and good examples.

I'd advise anyone taking Dr. Paul to make the extra effort to attend every class - it's beneficial for your grade & understanding. Grades: attendance, labs, lab attendance, pop-quizzes, 3 exams, a cumulative final and xc (it's important to involve yourself in lectures & discussions to receive the xc)

Dr. Paul is a great guy. He is hilarious and teaches well; however, it's still a hard class. Expect a lot of studying and reading the book!

Really funny and sarcastic! Lectures can be long, but very informative. Very few assignments. Always there to help students. Take really good notes, show up to class and participate. Don't use a phone or laptop during class-they'll be taken!

Uses Aplia online, was actually helpful for the tests. No technology use allowed in the classroom or there are questions added to the test. If you buy Aplia online you don't need to buy the textbook it gives you a free online version!

Best psych professor I have ever had! He is funny and really sarcastic- which you shouldn't take the wrong way, just give it back. He is both highly challenging yet rewarding. He makes you want to work hard and do well. Make sure you read, go to class, and read again! Sometimes it is boringdifficult content however he provides great examples.

Learned so much in his class that actually applies to life. Very funny, but tests are ridiculously hard. To pass the tests you HAVE to read the chapters. Gives more work than some other professors because he uses Aplia. Come to all his classes because it's never a dull moment. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities thankfully!

Like stated before- if you are looking to sit in a class and hope to have everything handed to you- this isn't the class to take- and that shouldn't be what you are paying for. His classes are tough but you definitely leave feeling like you have learned something (and with lots of cool facts to carry out of class) It's amazing how much he knows!

If you want to become a better student, he is the absolute best teacher to take. If you want to skate by and do as little work as possible, yet still expect a good grade, I recommend rethinking your educational future. Take Dr. Paul because when you finish the class, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of the material. hint:READ the chapter!!!
