One of the best teachers I have ever had. Also by far the hardest. You miss the wrong class and don't have a friend in the class that takes extensive notes? You'll drop at least a letter grade if not more. Miss two or more days in a row? Drop the course. But if you stick through it can be the most rewarding class you'll ever take.

Dr. McNitt is a great professor. Yes, his class format is considered old fashioned by some, but he is full of knowledge and is eager to help if you seek him out. You will have to put forth effort in his classes but Dr. McNitt is a unique professor and you will definitely learn a lot if you are willing to put effort in and pay attention.

Roper does NOT mess around. You must attend every class and DO THE READINGS. He is EXTREMELY difficult. He told me I didn't get a single thing wrong on his exams, but he gave me a C.

Dr. Roper is an awesome teacher! He has a really weird sense of humor but can be very funny. Very strict on attendance and cell phones, but easy to deal with. Only 3 tests, which are relatively hard. Lots of readings that are usually put on tests, overall hard class but he is a great teacher and will help you if you put forth effort too. No book

Well to start off, there are 3 tests for the grade. All the test are impossible. Half of the questions we didn't even go over in class. Good luck, but I'd say take another prof if you can.

We started with a full lecture hall and ended up with 15 kids in it 5. Only 3 test grades make up your entire grade and they're EXTREMELY HARD 4.HE ALWAYS TAKES ABOUT MOLDOVA!!!!!!!!!!

I once counted him saying "at the end of the day" 38 times in one class period. He is boring, doesn't relate material to real life, doesn't have a textbook, was never available when he said he would be. I would definitely not recommend him...I was an A student, until I took his class.

A great professor, incredible knowledge of the subject. Very hard but absolutely worth the fight, study the subject and you will do well. Perhaps not the best for non-poli sci major, but certainly my favorite.

Roper was clearly my highlight at EIU. Go to class and study for the tests, or you WILL FAIL. There are no "gotcha" questions on his test, but they are pretty detailed. Don't get a B because you forgot that Nixon left the gold standard in 1971. Wish I had taken more classes with Dr. Roper. Stupid jokes, really nice guy.

Extremely self absorbed, goes off on random things, never references the book but if you don't go though it you're SOL on the exam. grade based off 3 tests, very hard, wish I had never taken his class, worst experience yet. unless you're a big pls person, don't waste your time.

I really loved this class...It's really challenging, but great for a PLS major like myself. Roper is hilariously entertaining and probably a certified genius, so if you have an option, take a class with him. I'm gonna take everything that I can with him. He does make you work, but it's college folks. Get used to it or get out.

This class is very interesting however you must attend class. If you have had no knowledge of other countries political systems hold on to your pants as you cover a lot of material. Be prepared to take lots of notes. This class opened my views to other countries political systems. Recommend Roper as he will work with you.

Go to class and you can get an A. He covers everything in class including questions and the tests are based off the notes. He doesnt try to make it look like an easy class but as long as you show up and listen it should be no trouble.

Dr. Roper is an excellent professor who is quite knowledgeable. His jokes are hilarious and attire is highly professional. His course, international relations, is quite difficult and there is a lecture and notes daily, which can be tedious. Overall, I recommend him. An added bonus-he's cute.

International relations was so easy! Don't believe what everyone else on here tells you. If you pay attention, take notes, and have a decent grasp on the material, you'll do well. I finished all of his exams in 15-20 mins and got A's on all of them! He's a funny and cool guy, and has so much real world experience about all of the topics that he covers. AWESOME TEACHER!!!

Yeah this guy is tough. This is the kind of professor where if you miss one day you miss a lot. Whole class is taking notes and a lot of them. Jokes can be offensive but come on people lighten up. Listens to good music as well. Very smart man and if you pay attention you will learn a lot. Always willing to help outside the class. Not self-absorbed.
