Very bad teacher, took the class to learn about American History, not religion. Don't buy the book he doesn't use it at all. Every time I had questions his answer always had something to do with religion. If you like to have someone else's faith rammed down your throat go for it.

To get an A in his class is impossible! You will take between 3 to 6 pages of notes a day. There are three essay exams. The study guides have about 21 terms and he will pick 5 of those for the test. DON"T BUY THE BOOK, never used it. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!

You will take about 3 pages of notes each day in class. Not the most thrilling but you will learn a ton. He makes sure it's impossible to get an A. Tests require you to know a ridiculous amount of information. Don't waste your money buying the textbook because you will never use it.

Basically impossible to get an A. Class is boring and either lecture or group discussion about handouts. Has only given out 1 A in our class so far. Never use the book. Pretty easy to get a B, but an A is impossible.

Jackman is tough. Three essay exams that consists of 5 topics that's randomly picked by him out of 21 and you get to write about 3. There's 3 map quizzes that are easy and 2 papers that need to be written so clearly that it sounds like a 5th grader wrote it. Study for essay exams a week in advance. Go in during his office hours to get a good grade

Don't do this to yourself. Dr. Jackman was, without exception, the worst professor I ever had; his lectures are incoherent, he tries to force his religious beliefs down your throat, his voice is grating, and he will only give about one A per semester. I was getting a C in his class, then I withdrew and took HIS 101 with another prof and got an A.

Comment:
Extremely smart guy who gives great lectures. Easy to get a B if you know what he wants, but very hard to get an A. However, it is possible to get an A if you study your notes throughout the semester and go "beyond" the notes by explaining ideology. This class is not for the faint hearted but the professor is absolutely oustanding.

Despite what others may say, Jackman is an excellent teacher. Anyone could read you dates from a timeline, but he actually gives you the information dehind those dates. Yes, he is very hard, but I have learned so much from him, and I appreciate the fact that this is a "real" college class.

Jackman is survivable. It's college. It was, however, a very rude awakening. I studied very, VERY hard and got a B. He only gave 1 A in our class, but I'm not sure if that's how he normally does things. Don't buy the book, it's never used. If you can, I would try to find a different professor. I learned a lot from him, though.

Yes, this professor will require you to put in a lot of time to prepare for tests, but the test are not impossible. Take good notes and remember what you can. If you really want to do good, go in for help. This professor is more than willing to clear up the parts of the lectures that were confusing. I would recommend this professor.

Dr. Jackman is not THAT bad. Yes, he is a bit demanding, but it's college. Pay attention in class, take good notes, take a few days to study, and you will do fine. He forces you to learn a lot with demanding tests. I learned more in this class than any other history class I've ever taken.

Jackman is not impossible.Only lazy people don't do well.If you study, you will get a B or an A.I would recommend this class because it will teach you excellent study habits in college. My advice: take excellent notes, use flashcards, memorize every detail, let him check your papers before you turn them in.If you disagree, dont argue. You're not in HS

Do not buy the book. It is very expensive and is not used once. Memorize EXACTLY what he writes on the board. You learn about 25 terms for each of three tests, and 5 are selected at random. My suggestion: flash cards. It is not necessary to learn too much and get a C. It is, however, almost impossible to get an A.

Do NOT take his class. Tests are ridiculous. You have to literally memorize the notes and regurgitate them almost word-for-word. He will not give you a good grade if you openly disagree with his warped and blatantly historically inaccurate views on history. Yes, not only is he opinionated, he is actually wrong on many important facts.

Dr. Jackman is probaly the hardest teacher I have ever had at Creighton. His lectures are the key to success in his class. I recorded all of his lectures and wrote my essay answers almost word for word from his lecture. I did enjoy having him because he pushed me and I learned how to study/manage my time better from his class.

Jackman is the worst teacher ever. Do not get the book, because he goes through his own pointless notes. His notes are **** and his tests are impossible. I got a B on the last one and here is his advice. "Here is what you need to do. You need to figure out what you need to do, and then do it." Avoid at all costs.

Jackman's class was the hardest class I've taken. His lectures were well structured on the board; however, we didn't learn anything about history/historical people. He taught us the philosophies behind groups of people in history. His tests were impossibly hard, unless you can memorize about 8 lectures word for word.

Good teacher, kinda odd but not a bad guy. Tests are insanely hard and you have to have a perfect recollection of his lecture to get an A. I worked really hard to get a B which is like getting an A. If you like essay tests go ahead and try, but take someone else if you can.

his tests are all essay, and all based on his lectures-he picks 5 terms, you write on 3. It's hard to get an A on the essays that you do write, even if you think you memorized the lecture verbatim. It's next to impossible to study for the tests. he doesn't give much help, even when you ask. don't take the class.
