I would never recommend taking this class with her. The class consists only of textbook reading, assignments, and exams. No lectures, no explanations of difficult concepts. She's an extremely tough grader and the tests are very hard. Only take her class if you want to teach yourself. Oh, and she's not great at responding to emails either.

She's a very friendly, caring, knowledgeable professor. She explains the material clearly and in an entertaining, fun way. She's always available during her office hours, and is more than willing to help you if you need it. She also gives out extra credit opportunities. I had her for both Econ 101 and 102, and can't recommend her enough.

ITS LOTS OF WORK, she really makes you work for that damn grade unlike many other palomar econ teachers. I personally would not take her class again because her style of teaching is confusing. However, if you have backround in Macro econ you should be prepared to do a lot of work yet pass. Shes a last resort type of professor.

Great person, very bubbly. Readily available to students through office hours and email (fast responder). Tests however, there are only 3 total, but the wording made it difficult to understand; same for the homework assignments. But in her case if you ask the questions, you'll find the answers. I would take her again.

dont get me wrong, shes a great person. but i hated her as a teacher. She would explain things so simply during her lecture, but then on tests and the 3 big assignments it would be extremely hard to understand. not so many homework assignments but lecture heavy

Im an A student, but wow, horrible teacher do not take!!! Yea she's happy but thats about it, no idea how she got her teacher credentials, if more than 80% of the class fails the test thats a very good indication the teacher is horrible. Inquisitive assignments don't make you think they make you fail, wish i can write more, DO NOT TAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

Great professor. She is very animated which helped me stay interested in the subject. Overall, I would say that the exams are on the harder side; however, she will add back points to everybody's test for each problem that is missed by an unreasonable amount of students. She also is very easy to approach for help with tons of office hours.

She's a bit odd. She likes to sing and she says the same line every time she enters the classroom. She thinks her classroom is "where the fun never stops" but quite honestly it's very confusing. Her paper requirements are very vague, her tests are very difficult, the only thing easy is the inquisitive online assignments.

Professor Laughlin really cares about her students. She is always available to give help and lets you know it so take advantage of the assistance if you need it. She wants you to succeed! You don't need the book but you may need to complete assignments online so get the trial and finish them within the 3 week trial period.

This professor is probably the most funniest, professor you will ever meet, although you have to class everyday. If you do not go, the material gets harder and you will get lost. The material is difficult, but she makes it fun. WARNING TEST ARE DIFFICULT

Professor Laughlin is an excellent teacher. This is not a class for someone who just wants to skate through it. Hard work is needed and attendance is not mandatory but STRONGLY ADVISED! And don't be late to class. Course work is problem sets and a paper that you can turn in as many times as you want to get an A. I will take her again!

One of the hardest classes I've taken. This is not an easy class. Do not take this class as a hybrid as you will learn nothing from it. You will have to read the book for hours to learn anything.. Study guides are useless.. Tests are tough.. 3 problem sets? more like 10 essays..

This class was really easy. Professor will let you get up and talk about whatever you want, and the tests are definitely on the soft side. The textbook is almost useless, but as long as you took notes, you'll be fine.

Absolutely amazing teacher. Her lectures are clear and she answers everyone's questions. She does expect you to listen, take notes, ask questions, AND read the book. If you do all that and study, you'll pass the class. She's super interesting and funny and tries to keep everyone interested. If you're taking econ, she's the teacher to take!!! :)

Econ 115 is more of a Multicultural studies of the U.S. NOT Economic history of the U.S. Prof. Laughlin is funny and will keep you interested in the subject and there is lots of good discussion. However, the study guides for the exams are very weak, and the books are about taking pity on minorities. Also the group project is worth half your grade.

She is a great teacher don't get me wrong, she will answer any questions you have and clarify anything. The thing is that her exams are hard. She will not tell you what is on them so basically you are on your own. No study guide. Nothing.

A really great teacher! Not only was she hilarious, but her class was extremely interesting. Not the easiest class, but if you study you will do great. She answers all of your questions and is very helpful when it comes to elaborating on anything. Highly recommend, she opened my eyes to the world of economics.

Great teacher - I highly recommend her. Class was very interesting and helpful, she was always very good at answering questions and clarifying things. I learned a lot. She's a fair grader but be prepared - the tests are hard but if you study, you'll do fine. It's not an easy class, but it's a good one.
