Tim is such a cool dude. He was also my adviser so I spent a lot of time with him. Very knowledgeable, talented, funny, and all around a fun professor to have. Even if you aren't a Journalism major, take something with him. You'll learn a trade that'll help you out in the long run, AND you'll have fun.

Tim is a great teacher. He will go completely out of his way to help everyone that asks for it. He helps push your creative thinking and is very knowledgeable about all things Art and design. Get to know him as more than a teacher and you will really understand how great this man is. I highly recommend taking his classes especially Concept Sketch.

While lecture can be boring, you learn a ton.. I feel proficient in photoshop and indesign, which is the intent of the class. He is very, very helpful and willing to help you outside of the class whenever. I would reccommend this 1:1 time, because during class.. things can get crazy.

Very nice and helpful. Everynow and then lab gets crazy but not too bad. Projects aren't too hard and he gives you lots of time to work on them. Quizes are super easy too.

Incredibly helpful one on one. Lab setup difficult to follow his demonstrations, not his fault. Lack of class attedence is a result of his lack towards grading attendence. Good critiques. Solid graphic design knowledge, but lacks good administrative organization. No syllabuses distributed, nor updated online. No handouts about assignments

he's one of the coolest and strangest guys. not a great teacher, classes are often wasted and progress is slowed bc people dont show up and he wont move on w/o them. we still keep in touch and make cds for each other. one of my favorite people, but not for a teacher.

Tim is the greatest. Sometimes you have to ignore his advice about how to make things wacky but he's a good teacher and a great guy. He's learning flash just so he can help students in the lab, even though he won't teach the class. If you have the choice, take Tim before Joel.
