Here rubric was direct and to the point. Her exams were essays. She never spent many lectures on wide variety topics and only to have the potential essay questions pertain to one specific field

The subjects she teaches are very interesting and she teaches very clearly. She gets off track very easily and has to rework the syllabus often. But she expects a lot out of students, treats it as if this is your only class and everything else is not as important. Takes a while to get grades back to you.

Dr. Stoker's Hinduism class is a well-organized, omnibus tour of the religion and its role in Indian history and culture. If your interests are in non-Western religions, Indian literature, art, architecture, history, or the religious aspects of Yoga, Dr. Stoker is your guru.

Her class was okay. As a nursing major, I didn't need this class at all. It sounded really cool, but it ended up not being very interesting. She takes attendance and there's a reading assignment before every lecture, so buy the books. Entire grade relies on two exams ( all short answer/extended response) and a 7-page paper. Wouldn't take again.

Dr. Stoker's class on comparative religion is likely the most exciting class you can take at WSU. Dr. Stoker covers the "grand theories" along with aspects of religion from ancient Assyria to the modern day. Students will develop the ability to discuss religion without arguing about it. Work schedule doesn't leave you jammed up at semester's end.

Easily one of the most interesting professors in the College of Liberal Arts. Be respectful and she will be kind to you. I highly recommend her class, it changes my entire view of religion.

Usually a lecture with some group discussion. Productivity varied. She has a lot of knowledge and experience especially in Hinduism and shares compulsively in little organized fashion.I felt readings and lecture were too similar but you MUST read for the exams! Dense content, lots of interesting things learned. No cases of offense in my class.

Dr. Stoker knows her stuff, and loves to share it. She isn't easy to get in to see, and forgets to respond to email, but the class time is good. I did see her be rude to a student in front of the whole class, the kid later dropped. I have been told she isn't supportive, but I had no issues. Again, really knows her topic.

Professor Stoker is kind and wonderful. Homework isn't too difficult if you stay up on it. Sometimes she doesn't answer e-mails, though she claims to, but she really knows her subject and really enjoys teaching it.

Wonderful lecturer, very clear and thorough with explanations. Class was interesting and she incorporated a lot of her own experiences/travels into the material. Tests were all essay but outlines were always given out and discussed in advance. Paper was graded and given back for a re-write to improve score. Easy A

it was a lot of reading and a lot of discussion - one exam at the end of the quarter that was super easy and a 15-page paper that you have all quarter to do. easy class when starting the humanities program.

She's a very good teacher who knows what she's talking about. Her tests aren't bad and she provides a lot of help for the papers. The only negative is that she expects more interest in a gen ed. class than what is always going to be there.

A wonderful teacher- knows the subject very well (in this case the topic was World Religions). I was already interested in the subject, so maybe that contributed to my opinion, but I found her class very interesting. You do have to attend class unless you have a valid excuse, but it helps since the material is sometimes hard to understand.
