Ive taken his World Civ class and it was good. Not difficult if you read and study his guides. Likes to Lecture. Always a light mood and funny. Pretty easy class for average IQ people.

Dear god where to begin He's been arrested for domestic violence In U.S. history 1877-present we learned nothing except black people problems. Requires 5 books none of which help you learn about history. I forgot to show up to the final and got a b+ as my final grade. my friend took the final and he got a b-. Run away before drop swap date. :(

Comment:

Social Studies classes in high school are largely unbiased factoids and dates in a structured timeline. In college, you're asked to critique and think. A social studies professor's job is to free your mind from norms. That's what Dr. White does. If he sees your deep thought and care on paper, it's an A. But you have to take it seriously.

Change professors ASAP if you can. He requires 5 textbooks, yet they have nothing to do w the lectures. He just lectures the entire class period and will say something important, then say "write that down," then moves on. I loved history before I took this class and now I strongly dislike it. Very unorganized & confusing..

Don't understand the previous comments I think Professor White is great. He's very chill and approachable and likes shows you other sides to conventional history. Take notes on his lectures and skim the textbook and you'll pass for sure. Midterm, final, couple papers inbetween that are easy if you make an attempt to learn. Kept me interested!

He was a nice guy who was passionate about history, but he never really taught anything in his lectures. His lectures consisted of getting into arguments with the guy who sat in front of me. His TA graded everything and if you just follow the study guide you'll be okay.

He cares about history. He gives unlimited easy extra credit power points to make. You learn nothing in class at all. Read your textbook. Listen to him in class. If you can, get another teacher, I love history but he makes it to hard. CHANGE TEACHERS NOW

A disgrace to the teaching profession. Used the class as a platform for his own biased views. The class was supposed to cover 1700's to the civil war, instead he talked about slavery for 14 weeks, and even have false information. He deserves to be fired

Very willing to listen and he cares about the students. Tests are essays, but they are very easy since he gives out what you need to know on the review sheets. You don't really need to do all the reading he assigns. Makes the class interesting by telling you history in his point of view rather than the textbook's.

Easy to get whatever grade you want. Hardly comes to class. Just make sure you do EVERYTHING assigned extra credit or not. Very good story teller. Not much structure. He is not a bad person nor arrogant

I went into this class hating history and Professor White definitely made the subject more interesting. He likes to joke around and knows what he's talking about. Also very gracious with extra credit.

This class is not the easiest course but it also isn't the hardest. As long as you apply yourself you should be able to earn an A or a B. Professor White is very personable and flexible. The most important thing in this course is to communicate your issues with him. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone.

This professor is great. He is unorganized but his papers, test, and presentations are great. If you don't like writing, then you news to get out of college, cuz you are privileged to come to college. Take his class, stick with it and you will have a good grade.

VERY BAD PROFESSOR! His lectures are so organized! We jump from 1830 to 1910 and back to 1820. He uses no powerpoints or anything visual other than the textbooks. His test are all essay, if he saids multiple choice for a quiz he means you get to pick what essay topic you can write about. I should have dropped his class at the beginning of the year!

He is awful. He only comes to class half the time then expects you to be able to take a test or turn something in randomly. Googled his name and he's been arrested 4 times for domestic violence. Horrible class and horrible prof. He's very intelligent but not a good teacher at all. Would NEVER recommend him for a class.

Kind of easy, doesn't make much sense sometimes but offers VERY WEIGHTED extra credit, and it's usully some kind of 3 min presentation that can be done in 10 min using powerpoint and wikipedia. DO the extra credit, it brought my final exam from a 76 to an 82. Attendance semi-mandatory, after the first couple weeks of the semester it doesn't matter.

Pretty easy class, just took him fall of 2010, at the beginning of the year he said attendance was mandatory, its not. Handed out big handouts before every exam, they were semi helpful. Pay attention to the movies because he'll let you do extra credit on them if you ask him, and my extra credit project brought my midterm from a 70% to and 85%

Comment:

Randomly decides not to show up. Insane amount of reading that is not useful for exams. Exam dates and other assignment due dates change randomly. He'll also tell you he's bringing handouts only to forget for 3 weeks straight to bring them. Last half just watched movies that were only relatable to the class by subject matter and not exam prep.
