he is the worst professor I ever had. he expects all of us to be smart like him otherwise he will mock you and make fun of you. he's very rude to the student his tests are so difficult, there's no study guide for the final exam. quiz every week. if you are good at math then you will have no problem. but you are not so good don' take him!!!!

He does not teach at all, but instead will ask you how to solve the problem. I understand what his getting at when he does that, but he forgot that we're here to learn not to deal with his arrogant, rude, and judgmental attitude. a few minutes in this class was enough to see I did not need to be there. He also mocks students and feels good about it

Only 10 minutes were enough to see I wasn't gonna stay in this class. Everyone learns differently and professors have different teaching styles, but this one does not teach at all. All he does is ask the class how to solve a problem. He also is somewhat arrogant and rude by dumbing down and students. Just horrible.

He is so unprofessional!!!!! Will spend an entire class period on two examples b/c he doesn't just show how to solve a problem instead he'll ask the class which is extremely annoying. People who've given him a good rating probably got an A or like speaking in class. He'll go from making a joke to basically calling the class/someone stupid.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPEAKING IN CLASS DON'T TAKE HIM. He's beyond RUDE to people who aren't his favorites aka the smart people. Loves embarrassing his students. Only tests and quizzes, there's no participation grade and he gets mad if no one has questions or answers??? Calculus isn't hard but he makes it and he makes you hate math.

Professor Lu is the best math professor you will take. You're only graded by your exams and quizzes so it will be tough if you don't get the material. His exams are very tough but doable if you understand. If you genuinely find math interesting, he's definitely the guy. He actually explains why the formulas are the way they are.

He is hilarious in the class but he is not accessible to everyone. He wants you to ask him a question but sometimes he does not answer clearly. He will roast you in the class sometimes if he gets change . And yes! Noting will be in the exam from whatever you do in the class. I did not find the study guide was helpful to do well LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT.

Work on the revision sets as soon as you get them. This is your key to an easy A. Otherwise, you will hate yourself after not doing well in the test and realizing that you couldve gotten literally 100% if you had practiced the revision set. An A in his class is as easy as practicing his set, and also following the steps and methods he gives. GL!!!

If you struggle in math do NOT take him. You will end up self-studying. He does not care to help you. He seems to know what he's doing but it doesn't mean everyone else does. I don't recommend him for a teacher unless you're good at math.

He is what you call an ideal teacher. He knows math very well and tells you very well. the more you try hard the more he helps you. if you want to be good in math, take him and the college should give him a good salary raise.

Took him for Cal II & III. Emphasizes concept, and teaches for your understanding, not your memorization. Encourages participation with a generous bonus system that you can ONLY take advantage of if you participate in class. Gives tough tests but teaches accordingly, and also gives comparable practice exams. Hands down, excellent professor.

I came to GS as a transient student this summer expecting to knock out a few classes. Probably get a B, maybe even an A in Calc 3...I was WRONG. Lu is the type of professor who want's you to know WHY you're doing a problem. If you don't understand the concept, your grade will suffer. The only reason I made it out was because of the bonus point sys.

Awesome teacher. I'll be taking Professor Lu again for future math classes. A bit of a tough grader, but tons of extra credit, and awesome lectures. Never had a class I enjoyed going to as much as this one. If you put an effort in and show up to every class, it's hard to fail.

When I looked on RMP for this teacher all his reviews were really high. People said he was hard, but I was confident in my math skills. I took this over the summer and was expectating an easy ride. IT WAS NOT. He knows his stuff but he is all about CONCEPT. Memorizing is not allowed AT ALL. If you major isn't math or science related, DO NOT TAKE LU

I've always hated university math until I met this Professor. He is like the prophet of the Math God: he completely understands the language and teaches in an inspirational, applicable way so it is RETAINED. He has a hilarious, nerdy sense of humor but yet he maintains a professional classroom setting. One of the best professors I've ever had.

one of the funniest professors out there, if you get use to him you'll even laugh at his super lame jokes. He is very helpful and patient, he wants you to not just learn math, but to KNOW it, never skip class, and always study, classes like cal isnt for your to just sit there and wait for an easy A, if you work hard enough, hes THE best professor

He's an awesome professor and an even cooler person. Don't be afraid to go to office hours. Take him if you want to UNDERSTAND math, he explains everything wonderfully, just don't miss lecture. You will learn more than you thought possible, but you will struggle to pass. Power through and pass with a solid B.
