Comment:

Fantastic material, really advanced stats, lots of programming and GIS work. Dr. Paez is a caring teacher and loves to teach extra outside of class. The group project is gigantic. The exams killed everyone who didn't study, so don't get fooled into thinking you can coast.

Comment:

Great lecturer, very accessible outside of class and loves to teach. There was no textbook. The topic is interesting, but you leave wanting to know more. Labs were programming in R, so if you can't code don't take the class. Midterm and final were entirely on lectures, and two topics require being comfortable with math.

Paez is wonderful. He is a great professor; very caring and passionate about what he teaches. He is thorough with instruction and if you attend lecture, you should do well in the course. His facebook page, Transportation Experience, is a fun way of interacting with the class (and Paez) outside of the classroom. He is quite witty.

Dr. Paez is extremely helpful when it comes to answering questions and clearing up ambiguities. He would take the extra and time effort to make sure you understand his content. He can be a little hard to hear at times but asking him to repeat or clarify is a dream as he does it so selflessly and sincerely. Really interactive and friendly.

Phenomenal teacher. He is always willing to help students who are lost and takes pride in what he teaches. HE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU!!! He asked me how my friend was doing once and he hadn't seen her in two years. And to people saying the classes are too hard do not put in the work. His classes were my best marks in university, but I studied.

Im sorry guys, but if anyone who took this class found it hard, then you shouldnt be in university. this is probabaly one of the easiest classes ive ever taken and i was amazed at how people found this hard! the math is a JOKE ! , dr paez had to go over some stuff which he shouldnt have, i think you need BASIC math to be in 2nd year.excellent prof

GEO 2HA3- He was difficult to understand,(by-laws vs. bio-loss, dairy vs. diary for example) Lectures will only confuse you and aren't worth going to. Just pray you have a really good TA that will explain everything to you and then the class will be quite easy. If you understand the work on the assignments, you can do alright on the exams.

Class was relatively easy, prof was very very nice, dedicated, helpful, informative and fair! Unfortunately the average IQ of the class was very low and therefore people struggled with easy concepts. The math review quiz at the beginning was a joke. If you can't get a A+ on it the first time then you shouldn't be in high school, let alone Universit

Very unclear and expects too much prior knowledge. Although this is only a second year, introductory course with no prerequisites he treats it like a third or fourth year course. The only reason I didn't drop it is because I had already taken urban economic geography which uses some of the same models. Although he does try, worst prof ever.
