Lectures are not useful at all. Make you doing the same thing, repeating repeating repeating on same thing, boring. Do not follow the syllabus schedule. Have no clear rubric. wont take his class again.

The class is very easy. We watch a ton of movies and the tests are open note with the questions given in advance. Definitely a good class to take if you are trying to fulfill a MAP requirement. So happy I chose this one.

He is so nice! He is so funny with the board and just laughs when the class laughs at him. Shows a lot of movies -- a good way to learn about another culture =)

I don't know why this guy has such a bad reputation. The class is easy! The subject matter is fairly interesting. He isn't the most interesting person to have ever lectured, but he makes everything easy to understand. It's always funny trying to teach him how to use the smart board. Overall, he may not be exciting, but he's a great professor.

Arvind is not the most fun but he is still very good. He tries very hard in making the long readings understandable and applicable to communication studies. The class itself is quite easy, and he is to blame :)I defenetly recommend him for future Hist of Comm people. The subject is quite boring, but it really was not bad at all.

The class is generally easy. 25% of it is participation on blackboard. You gotta read the book/articles and post summarys or your thoughts on them. If you remember that, you'll do fine on the Midterm and Final. You gotta do an essay that is pretty open ended. Not bad. You can definetely skip the class half the time and pull off a B. Lectures=boring

I've heard that the second semester version of the class is easier, so take that. This one is ok, but its all politics and economy - NO CULTURE. It was diwali (the biggest Indian holiday) in class one day, and he didnt even acknowledge it - thats how little emphasis was on culture. Easy grading rubric though, w/o much effort, you can get an A-

Rajagopal is the nicest prof ever...but staring at a pile of flour would be more exciting. Easy class, overwhelming content, but one of the better WC's. Take him if you want to learn more about India, but expect more about past politics than modern times.

Go to class and pay attention, and make a decent effort to read the books and you'll do fine. Prof. Raj. has messy handwriting on overheads but you'll get used to it. Surprisingly, very interesting class.

Rajagopal is a nice guy, but his teaching could use improvement. He cares a lot, however, so the class is at least bearable. The material is a little overwhelming since he doesn’t explain it very well, but it isn’t very complex. Go, take notes, leave, and don’t allow yourself to get frustrated.

I found World Cultures: India to be interesting, but very frustrating - the volume of the material we were responsible for was overwhelming, and while I did well in the course it was a very stressful experience.
