Comment:
Prof. Segall is an excellent professor, however very tough grader. This class is not an easy A; you will need to work for it. Get ready to read; this class is not for the laid back. Lots of assignments, which included two book reviews, weekly NY time short assignments, a 10-page research paper, midterm, and a final. He is very strict when it comes to grading, and he will expect you that your writing is a top-notch level. The test are difficult if you don't study, and they are based on his class notes; make sure that you take notes, and you will do fine. I enjoyed this class despite the challenges. Prof. Segall is a gem on the law; he is very knowledgeable and will provide you real-life examples to make the course easy to understand.

Professor Segall is probably one of the most respected professors in MSU. He is very knowledgeable in his subject and makes the class very interactive by giving real life experiences. He is a tough grader, but fair. Professor Segall is willing to help you if you show the effort. If you get a chance take him, you wont regret it.

Is a great professor and knowledgable in the subject of law. Gives multiple examples to help you understand each concept. Not a huge note writer, therefore be prepared to listen carefully and write down everything he says. Very specific grader, is very particular about proper grammar/writing. Overall, awesome professor you will learn a lot.

I took Professor Segall for both Ethics and Legal Systems, and I must say that he had a great command over his subject matter. As well, he was engaging and witty. The syllabus spells out the formula for grading, there are no surprises here. Yes, he does not provide a study guide and states that everything is on the table.

Professor Segall is an overall nice professor. He has his sassy, funny moments and tells stories occasionally which is a plus. You MUST take avid notes in order to pass this class. I didn't read a single chapter but walked away with B-. Just do all homework assignments, try your hardest and study for midterm/final and you should be good.

I liked this class and teacher a lot. I personally thought the class was easy, but I have taken law classes before. Definitely make a point of knowing your terms. He's a nice guy and makes a lot of jokes (he has his jems). The class is very interesting and open, great discussions too. I hope I have him in the future.

Although there was only one literal test, our final was a mock trial. This class gave me a huge amount of insight of what it is like to be a litigation attorney and how much work is involved.

decent individual although not a teacher at all, he cannot transmit the material and does not guide you through assignments. Be careful with him and make sure you talk to people in class so that you are not that lost

BE CAREFUL WITH HIM! segall gives you really nothing to go on in terms of what you should study for the midterm and final. his notes really suck and he beats around the bush when you ask him what will and wont be on the exams. to pass you better read the chapters and make notes from what you read. i'd take him again only cuz i worked hard for my A-

I have mixed feelings about Segall. He's a funny guy...but when it comes to teaching he is not funny at all and makes students feel very stupid. I do not know if he thinks it's a tactic, but it is truly a turn-off by the end of the class i didn't even about my grade...no matter how hard i tried on assignments he said it was trash.(don't recomend)

Segall is cool- odd sense of humor, but he's pretty entertaining. HERE'S THE RUN-DOWN: 1)He does not accept late assignments, 2) Make sure you read the chapters for class (it's like only 5 pages per class, plus he wrote the book), 3) Take good class notes, 4)Don't take him seriously, he likes to joke around. I followed all this and got an "A."
