Comment:
Professor Simon is one of the best I have had in my academic career. He is very in control of his subject and although requires very specific analysis, it pushes students and he goes above and beyond to help out and make sure his students are of the right path. The course material is also very interesting

Interesting lecturer, very approachable. Class was a bit on the easy side, especially considering that I was a computer science student at the time, had never taken a sociology class before, and took the course lightly so I didn't put in that much work. Lost a grade for giving in my final project late (by 2 weeks), otherwise I would've had an A-.

Great and FUN prof. The most fun i've ever had in class, we played games, hung out like friends and he explained his theories in an interesting fun way. Very kind and flexible, takes time to speak to all students that need help. Had an amazing time/experience with this prof, would take him again and recommend his classes to anyone.

It was the first time I had him but he is a really good teacher. His lectures are amazing! It was the first time he taught this class but it was pretty good. There are no tests. He is demanding. He is there to help out the students as needed. Explains everything well, he keeps the class interesting. He is funn to talk to! I would take him again!

soc. of the media: interesting topic. the readings are rather difficult. the teacher doesnt really explain them in simplified manner as much as just repeat the relevant parts. a bit boring at times but not a bad class.

He demands that you do the readings but is a great professor as he actually enjoys what he teaches and the class discussions are always interesting. The class is not easy but it is a lot of fun if you are looking for a challenge.

Very fun class, the field trips are awsome (there.com). He is not an easy teacher, allot of reading, allot of studying, and allot of writting. But I liked this class and recommend you take it.

Nice guy, decent prof. Very demanding but also very fair marker. Tons of reading of tough material. However, forget about ever getting your work back from him which really bugged me.

I really liked material culture. Bart as always, is a standup prof. His love of the topic is always apparent, and his interest is contagious. He is a challenging prof, but it's nice in the face of so many professors who deem it their duty to babysit, rather than teach.

A nice guy and a good prof and he really likes the material he teaches. But I found the material in this course was difficult enough that it was hard not to feel discouraged sometimes. Best to take this course when you have an otherwise light-load semester.

Likes to make things abstract and readings are boring and hard, but that's misleading. The exams and exercises were very simple. Really fun participation if you're into online games and discussions.

This course focuses on the most uninteresting and uninfluencial aspects of cyberspace. A waist of time, unless you are a treky do not take this course. The proff is a huge annoying nerd.

Challenging readings, and it would be more helpful if he fried less of his own fish and talked more about the readings, or had us do readings that tied into his own interests more often. On the whole, though, very smart teacher who's made me look at cyberspace very differently!

A very knowledgeable teacher. Loves his topic and is very enthused to talk about it. Has alot of reading material to cover, with very abstract and challenging text (interesting though). Overall a great teacher who challenges you to think. Great ideas for participation too.

Likes to make things really complicated; boring and confusing readings; not helpful for exams; adds his own material to already heavy readings... but he's charismatic, and the virtual participation was really fun!
