Jean was a really good teacher! She was very organized and had a very good system with homework, quizzes and exams. She was very bubbly which made learning about college algebra actually semi-enjoyable. I recommend her!

Take her. Please. She'll be your best choice for calculus. Although I spent many hours in the math resource center teaching myself the same material I sat in her class for, I wouldn't want anyone else as my professor. She cares about her students and I am horrible in math, but I'm making it through calc my first time because of her.

Was not a bad teacher. Although, she goes thru sections really fast, and gets off topic even faster. Lectures fast and moves on fast, only answers a couple of questions on the homework. Her style is working problems out on the board, but doesn't really go into depth with it. If you need more extensive coverage with math, I suggest another professor.

Pop quizzes based off assigned homework are worth about 20% of your grade. She is very detailed and does a great job of helping everyone understand the content. Lots of tests (6 or 7 last semester) but she drops your lowest grade. She is not flexible about missed assignments but bakes extra credit into your scores. Strict but fair!

I struggle with Math and got an A in Biz Calc. I met with her outside of class when needed, she always had time to discuss after class and walking to next class if needed, really wants you to succeed. Lectures CAN be frustrating (see others comments). Do your homework, don't skip class, TRY. Content is difficult - it's Calc. I highly recommend her!

Lectures are long and confusing. Too much homework. You are expected to read the book. I did not realize until too late, but other teachers who teach the exact same course do not require book learning, the teacher teaches you everything you need to know in class. I recommend not taking Jensen.

Class was mostly over what you learn in the book, so its better off just reading the book and lecture wise not really efficient. Jean is such a kind person, but sometimes lecture drags on longer than it should over one hw question. I only recommend her as a professor if you need to see math being done face-to-face.

For someone who has always struggled with math, I found Jean to be a very great instructor and she explained things well and always offered extra help if needed. There was a good amount of homework every week, but it helped you learn the chapters well. Show up to class, apply yourself, and be willing to learn. She was very helpful in my opinion.

Jean is a decent instructor, her lessons are mostly book-based meaning you do everything by the book. Her lectures can be quite confusing but just read the book to understand more. Homework wise, we do HW everyday but no checking, however, she does go over questions people don't understand.

Math has never been my strong suit but Jean has helped me all the way through Math 116 to Math 171. She's a little all over the place & spacey but she's genuine! SHOW ALL WORK ON TESTS/HW ASSIGNMENTS! She's so heavy on partial credit, so don't miss out! Also she doesn't give points for hw but she does do hw quizzes so be sure you're prepared!

Jean Jensen is a decent math teacher. She tries to make the class less dreadful. She gives some options to help your grade. She rushes because of "lack of time", and we don't get points for homework. The tests are okay, if you understood the lessons. She never took the time to learn names. She does go into detail with problems though, mostly.

pretty average imo. She can be really nit-picky on her grading but she also gived partial credit so just show ALL of your work or she'll take off points. I wouldnt mind taking her again.

Probably the worst Math teacher I've ever had. You might as well teach yourself. She expects you to read the Math book. Who reads a math book? If you are a visual learner, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!! It's so un-motivating to go to lectures when you know the teacher will NOT help you be successful in the class.

Just started this class about 4 weeks ago, do NOT take her. I don't know how she has any positive reviews. She goes over half the work in class and the rest you have to look up yourself either in the book or online. She never goes over homework and is constantly keeping us past the end of class and still seems to not cover everything.

Professor Jensen was an excellent math teacher. I took College Algebra, and her teaching was exceptional. When we had a substitute teacher on one occasion, the whole class groaned as the other teacher was nearly ineffective. Professor Jensen does not hesitate to answer questions, and makes sure to spend extra time on harder concepts as needed.

Professor Jensen was very kind and always open to help you if you went to her. However, she does better teaching one-on-one than with a large class. She also spends a great deal of time going over hw and often ran out of time to explain the next lesson. Math isn't my strong suit and I learn by lectures, I liked her as a person, but not as a prof.

Overall, Jean is a great math teacher. Math can be difficult, but I excelled in her class. You definitely have to put the work in though. She shows a lot of examples and clearly tells you what will be on the tests. She also gives partial credit for showing your work. I recommend going to her office for help or the MRC. She is so sweet and nice!
