Dr. Kerns is awesome! I had him for both ANSC133 and 134 and I feel like I learned so much. You really have to study for his class but it's worth it; he's a great guy and the hard work definitely pays off. His notes are mandatory but they're like $6 from the bookstore.

Love Dr. Kerns. I've taken Equine Med and Food Animal Med with him. Hands down one of my all time favorite professors at UF. Very kind, funny, engaging. Don't skip, you'll get massively behind. Tells great stories. Take detailed notes, you'll need them to study for quizzes and tests. He wants you to succeed and will help you.

He's really dedicated to helping you learn, & we're in the barn a lot. Usually he does one demo and then lets us go do what we need to do on the horses. His tests are 10 questions but they're each 10 points, and he's a really tough grader. He usually gives 10 extra credit points if the class average is low, and drops your two lowest test grades.

Dr. Kerns is one of the most amazing professors I have ever had! He is very funny, kind and knowledgeable about veterinary medicine and agriculture in general. He has been a veterinarian for all kinds of animals, including exotics, and loves to share the stories with the class. He makes it very easy to pay attention and want to learn.

Dr. Kerns is a phenomenal professor! His lectures are extremely interesting and you'll definitely learn a lot. He is very grandfatherly and is never condescending when students ask questions. He does have frequent quizzes that are usually only 10 questions, so there isn's a lot of room for error but you will always know exactly what will be on them

Had him in the past and loved his classes. Small Animal Med is very detailed so you need to study if you haven't worked in a clinic before, but he does a great job teaching. He wants you to be involved, and he wants you to be ahead of the game for vet school. Highly recommend taking anything this man teaches! He always has a fun story to tell!

Fun prof. Makes lecture as entertaining as possible. Need to study for his quizzes and exams if new to being around horses. The bonuses are impossible for non-horse people. Answers any questions you have and very approachable. Highly recommend. Great prof.
