Honestly if this is your professor you will have to teach yourself almost everything. Im an all A student and I had to drop this class because there wasn't enough point opportunities to make up for bad grades on the tests. To be frank she's bland and boring. I don't know why she's still allowed to teach or why she expects people to sit in class.

Comment:

Never had any problem with math until I came across this class. Lectures were long and wording is very confusing. Homework is given out but not collected. Tests were handed back after two to three classes. You are only graded on 5 HW problems for each exam cycles and 5 exams. Two extra credit opportunities were given but only worth 5 points.

Wouldnt recommend taking this professor unless you have a strong foundation. Lectures are difficult to follow. Very nice teacher. Knows her math but you have to teach yourself.

I've had tough teachers for math classes but at least they're helpful. She teaches her class as a lecture and doesn't show work. If I recall, more than half of the class failed the first test. She blamed the students for not doing the homework. If you take this class, be sure to set aside so much time to study. Tutors are your saviors too.

Comment:

I had her for MAT189B, the class is online and in person. Personally I am bad at math, and it was hard to make sense of her explaining the lessons that I didn't understand. I would go to the other math professors/tutors for help, just so I wouldn't get more confused with the lessons. She's not bad, just hard to understand.

Roberta was very challenging, BUT I am really proud to have taken her math class because I might not have gotten an A or a B, but I think the work that I did there prepared me to get a better grade in my next math class. If you are not a hard worker you will end up either dropping her class for sure. Only the very strong can be able to make it.

She is the worst teacher I have ever had. She may know the material but she does not know how to teach it. She makes things harder on students and makes VERY many mistakes in her lectures. One day a sub came in and taught the class better than her. It is amazing that she has kept a career in teaching after all these years.

gives boring lectures, sometimes forgets to write chapter on board, has horrible handwriting, really hard to copy her work. takes forever for her to grade tests and quizzes even though thats all she grades in the class. explains math very complicated.

She is a terrible teacher. She is VERY boring and makes a lot of mistakes in her lectures and it gets very confusing. The homework is optional & not graded therefore your grade is only tests, quizzes, and projects. She also makes many mistakes while grading tests. She's horrible at answering questions. I would definitely not take her class, ever.

Alright, Ms. Casper is the most boring teacher of all time. She is easily confused and then makes up random stuff to make her seem smart. Her lectures just go on and on. She's an awful teacher and I would never take her class again. Only good thing is there is no homework, which could also end up being a bad thing. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS

Roberta is a very straight to the point professor. She explains the material well and clearly. She gives reviews for tests, giving HW problems that will be similar. She goes over test material the class before test and she even gives times for extra questions. She's not a nazi about her answers, but there is some specificity. HW is optional.

I had a difficult time learning from her. She didn't post any notes online, lectures were slow and lacked depth. Often times, she doesn't introduce new topics thoroughly, and can just jump right into the lecture. Reading before class is mandatory to understand. This class is also difficult because of the lack of outside learning resources.

Very Sweet and Fair. I finished with highest grade in class. At first, wasn't happy with her, BUT my opinion was very high within a month. EXTREMELY LENIENT grading tests and quizzes. Offers retake for every exam, takes higher score. Assigns HW, but not for points. It's big boy rules. You're a lowsy student if you don't receive a B or higher.

Great teacher, very helpful does not mind answering questions until you understand. There are no surprises on quizzes or tests if you do your homework on time and ask questions you will get an A.

She was very helpful, if you have a question on the homework or at all involving math, she will help you. She has very flexible Office hours for helping students. She was also really good at explaining the material, you could tell she has a love for math from her teaching. If your serious about learning calculus, shes the one.

Mrs. Casper is a great lady. If you do your statistics homework the quizzes will be a breeze. If you understand your quizzes, your tests will go well. Like any class, the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. I would recommend this instructor to anyone taking Staistics.

Casper is great and she knows her subject. Does make a few mistakes on the board but donn't hesitate to correct her, she'll only apprecite you as a student. She gives out as much extra credit as she can, so take advantage of that.

she is a very nice person, very good teacher I'm leaving the class with an A and so are most of classmates. maybe the other people that rated her bad really bad are not so smart. The class was very nicely paced, quizzes, some were take home and you always new when you had a quiz coming and what would be in it. tests the same thing.
