I am compelled to post this review of a class I took over 25 years ago. Carol Hovanec had a positive impact on my writing, appreciation of teachers and dare I say as a person. She taught me a great deal as an incoming student fresh from Bronx HS of Science. To summarize: she taught me respect, enthusiasm, honesty and mindful use of my abilities.

Very polished and poised professor. She does play favorites though. Try to impress her academically and share your thoughts when class first starts in the semester and she'll love you.

Carol is the absolute best teacher ever! Take it back! I've had her for three class anywhere from 200-400 level. I would gladly take 3 more. Do what she asks for, and you will be fine...STOP BEING LAZY!

She only accepts her opinion as correct and picks favorites. I learned nothing at all and wish i never took her class. If you dont kiss up or write way over the top with flashy words she doesnt like you. Dont take her if you can help it.

If there is a better Lit professor than Carol Hovanec, I wouldn't believe it. She has the perfect blend of enthusiasm and knowledge about the subject and she's fun. Nice little anecdotes about literature. Papers have broad topics and are easy to write. Discussion-based class. Highly recommended!

She's a cheerful old lit lover who likes if you write well and gets frustrated if you're stupid. DON'T give her any cheek! She yelled at a guy who reminded her that class time was up. But she makes it fun & likes to get you involved. We watched 3 movies. She even let us vote to skip the final! EASY

Prof. Hovanec is a very nice teacher and her class was great. I'm not a Lit. major but the work we did was straight forward and she is an easy grader, even on papers. The stories assigned were short and never too much to handle. Highly recommended!
