Akel is a very good professor and has a heart for teaching. I took ENG 102 in the summer. It was a quick 1 month class but seems to go on forever. Was very easy, had 4 essays. If u take your time and know MLA format (it is easy) you will be guaranteed a B or higher. there are short quizzes in the beginning of almost ea class. just read and its easy

Very nice woman. You use a textbook (an anthology) in the class, but you can find all the short stories, plays, and poems online. You must show up to class on time, because there normally is a quiz at the beginning, and if you miss it, you miss it. She loves MLA format, so just read, do the work, and show up to class on time, and you'll be fine.

I love Professor Akel, I had her for 102 and she relies heavily on the syllabus so make sure you read it. Correct MLA format is a must on homework. She gives reading quizzes but they're simple, you'll do really well in the class if your do the work. She's so helpful and so real, I'd definitely recommend her!

hate her, she is ridicously crazy about MLA format. i took her film and lit class and i couldnt stand it. two 5 1/2 page papers and if its not the way she wants it she gives u an automatic F. i would never recommend anyone to take this class it is absolutely horrible

Great teacher , it took my taking other english classes to realize this. I wish i had her again cause i dont like my current professor. She uses the textbook a lot but is fun. A little eccentric but u gotta love her. gives about 3 to 4 3 page papers and thas about it. maybe small homeworks here or there.

This woman is NUTS!! But, you cant not love her. The class is relatively easy. She is a harsh grader depending on the essay your writing. Some of the essays you are able to re-do so dont worry.

She kept my interest in the class. A lot of students were absent frequently. She writes sentences from the students' papers on the board (kept anonymous) in order to show the class what was done incorrectly. Work consisted of paragraphs in the beginning and 5-paragraph essays later on.

Okay, Maybe you people think she was a good teacher for english, but try ethics. She was boring and was the hardest grader. I wasn't the only person who never understood what she wanted from us in our papers. That was the only class I ever failed a paper. I got a C in the class but it was terrible experience and would never take her class again.
