Comment:

Going into the third week of geography with her and I regret not dropping the class. Subject is interesting. Lecture's aren't awful BUT IF I HAVE TO LISTEN TO HER REMIND US OF HOW "LAZY" OUR GENERATION IS AND HOW ALL WE DO IS GOOGLE THINGS I AM GOING TO FREAKING LOSE IT!

Comment:

Professor Brenner has so much life experience & knowledge about the subject. I will admit to having a difficult time in this class because the tests are very challenging, but in the end I was able to eke out an A. I recommend going to her office hours to ask questions, ALWAYS being in class & being attentive in her occasionally tedious lectures.

Professor Brenner simply should not be a teacher. She is incredibly strict, and blames everything on the students. During the time I was in her course, she gave an exam where the class average was about 50%. Her explanation to this was that we weren't an honors class, and simply not smart enough. Straight A student until I took her class.

Comment:

Brenner is very passionate about geography, and fun to learn from. Some lectures can be boring, but she helps to make them bearable. Be sure to show up to class and take notes, or make friends with someone who does. Make flashcards from the study guides and go through them a few times. Only 500 points, so be thorough with the few assignments.

I love Professor Brenner, but no matter how much I studied her notes, I never felt equipped to get an A or even a high B. She'll say "be sure to learn this for the test" a bunch of times and then that question wouldn't be on the test, but other stuff we didn't cover would be. If you don't have lots of time to study, pass on this class.

Don't take her. Idk what all these people are talking about because her lectures are bland as hell. Shes rude and calls people out for no apparent reason. Also the tests are not that bad but she sneaks stupid answers in the tests.

Second time taking her. Her lectures are very long and no breaks so prepare to take notes. She is kind of rude in a funny way. She talks really fast. She curves tests. Do not miss class because you will probably be talked about in front of everyone. I never used the book but you will need the atlas!

Loves her subject and has a lot of experience. However her tests are HARD as it gets. The study guide she gives you doesn't help at all. Her test questions are always confusing and she is a tough grader on homework. Do the weekly news for extra credit. Has 3 test(100) 1 final(100), 1 big project, 4 homework(30 each) Attendence and participation.

Professor Brenner was a great professor. She is clearly passionate about the subject manner, making it an interesting class. The tests are tough, but definitely passable if you pay to attention to lectures. Show up, pay attention, and review your notes. Great class.

She is amazing! She knows so much about the subjects she teaches and has such interesting insights, stories, and photos from her travels. You need to be a great note taker, because the tests are mainly on in-class notes. She also tests from the book, but minimally. She's a bit rough around the edges, but really nice as long as you're respectful

Professor Brenner was great! As most have mentioned, she tells interesting stories from her travels and has the pictures to go along with them. One thing, her lectures are LONG. A lot of writing. And her tests are tough, with diagrams. Other than that, her class was enjoyable and i think she's a great teacher ! She'll inspire you to travel !

Hearing all of her stories was super interesting because she has been everywhere. If you show up and do your work, it will be an easy A. She is strict with phones and her tests were a little bit difficult. But take her class and wait to hear all of her amazing stories!

Bright & funny bc shes travelled everywhere. I took 3hr nite class. Easy homework. Long powerpoints. But helpful. She reviews and tells us what we need to know. Do NOT buy the book you do not need it. Take notes on powerpoints, do the little hw assignments, come to class, make notecards 4 tests which are NOT cumulative :) & u will pass. curves :)

Ms. Brenner has the most fascinating stories and has literally traveled the world. Class consists of lecturesslides with handouts to take notes with. Some homework but not a ton and one paper due at the end of the semester. Her tests are hard so be prepared to study.

Just go to every class and write down everything you are supposed to. She indicates what to write down from the slides. 4 homework assignments, easy if you give yourself time to do them right (maps etc) 3 tests and a final 50 multi choice each, non cumulative, and they wont be hard if you just study. You MUST study hard to get an A, most got BsCs

Comment:

She's freaking adorable and teaches super thoroughly. She certainly knows her stuff. An 85 and above in the class is considered an A. She has really interesting stories due to the fact that she's traveled almost everywhere, but she also teaches super useful information that I've already used outside of class. I'd definitely recommend taking her.
