Comment:

Professor Brothe is great! She treats students like we're real people and is respectful to us all. Her teaching style makes class enjoyable and encourages engaged discussion. She grades tough but fair and I feel that my writing has improved as a result. It's a good mix of lecture, group work, and class discussion. It was a genuinely fun class.

Comment:

On the first day of class when she walked in, she was a little intimidating but as class went on she became less intimidating. There are a few papers that you have to write but she gives you a structured outline of what she wants. She is a great resource for help on papers and is not too harsh of a grader.

Comment:

Crystal was pretty good at giving feedback but was very strict and a little harsh at times. She often gave unclear instructions and the penalties on papers seemed rather harsh. She definitely knows what she's talking about.

ENG 122 is one of those classes where if you have a high enough ACT or AP test score, you can get out of it. I was one point off my ACT from getting out of it so all of the textbooks readings were very boring. I knew most of the information and I ended up not using it at all. The essays are very boring but if you're confused she's good at helping.

Crystal was one of my favorite professors. When the class first started (granted it was at 8 AM) It was very intimidating at first. But then as the semester progressed, everything started to fall into place. This class made me want to get up in the morning. (Also given that she takes attendance, 5 absences and your grade drops by a letter).

Professor Brothe is an amazing teacher! She is very understanding when it comes to needing help on assignments and missing class. She doesn't believe in tests which helps with my test anxiety. Overall she is an amazing professor but a little bit intimidating at first.

The class is all about one big paper. She's really lenient on how it's done, but she's also going to make you take it serious. Would've got a better grade if I had gone to class.

I had a pretty great high school English teacher and so I had some high standards for my next teacher and she for sure met them! You can tell she actually cares about the students and English in general. You do have to write essay's but she makes it so that you learn something from them! Its so good!

I really loved Crystal's class. She picked interesting material to read and she really helped you if you didn't get it. Her directions were clear and she was always willing to help and talk to you if you were confused. I loved her!

Best english teacher i have ever had. She is their because she enjoys her job and helps you out whenever you need it. Flexible office hours and schedules meetings to see how each one of her students is doing. TAKE HER CLASS! I hate english but loved this class because of her!

She's great in class, as long as you're on her good side. The class itself is a bit tough but she is very good about working with you and she is flexible if you're putting forth enough effort. She's also in charge if the writing center, so that helps!

She was a very nice professor. Once you got her to smile and past the first couple weeks where she had a stern face then she was an awesome teacher. She was able to relate to the class. If you needed help she was more then willing to help you out on papers. She made you think on the papers and was a tough grader.

Crystal is pretty cool. She explains everything very well on what she wants you to do and what she's looking for. But she doesn't help you much with trying to help you find a topic for your essay and often answers your questions with another question. She also does a lot of busy work in class, so it doesn't hurt to skip a few now and then.

She is ver knowledgable about the subject. She really knows her stuff. You need to read and do everything she says to do good in her class. She will explain everything if you ask. She is great and also in charge of the writing center! Be prepared to participate in class. It is very helpful if you do.
