Dr. Matveev is simply put amazing and inspiring. He explains the concepts very well during lecture and prepares you well for the exams. He is also a very caring professor who cares about you learning. He answers all questions very well and does not hesitate to help beyond lecture. Would recommend him for any math course. 10/10 would take again

Comment:

Dr. Matveev is by far one of the best professors I have ever come across. His teaching style is one of the best. He is easily accessible. The class itself is one of the hardest ones so he might get the blame but he makes things clear. There is no way one can do good in his class while skipping. Prepare for quizzes and then exams are easy.

Matveev is great. PDE is a difficult course and there is a lot of material, so he has to go through it quickly but he is very clear and always available outside of class to help. He is a very fair grader and his exams are straightforward so long as you do the hw, study his notes, and practice old exams. No tricks. Hands down, the best prof Ive had

He is an awesome guy. Clearly, the best math professor at NJIT. He knows the material very well since he is been teaching for so long. Sometimes you may think that he is going too fast but just go and ask him during his office hours he is extremely helpful. Pay attention in class and quizzes you will definitely do good in class.

His exams are infinetly harder than usual. I don't agree with the other students. He should emphasize more of what's going to be on the exams and less of the theory because when it comes to exam time and review. U have to be bright if you want him as your professor because he likes to torture too much theory. The mean scores are low for exams.

His PDE class last semester was hard. He may say that the exam's he gives are easy but they are not. U can wind up from "A" student in math 2 just mediocre if u have trouble with comprehending the theory. Not a bad prof, but he can get complicated. His exams aren't easy! Never gives partial credit! I would curve if I were him.

Great guy. Calc 3 was the first math class i got an A in, and managed to get a 97 on the final... all thanks to him.. Take him for your own good

A fantastic prof in all aspects. Possesses a wealth of knowledge and yet makes it his duty to ensure everyone understands the material as best as they can. Always willing to help. Tests are somewhat tricky but he conducts a good review session. The best I've encountered for helping students learn.

Really knows his stuff, good speaker, accent present but very slight. Answers all ?'s, very helpful in office. Makes even the most complicated things seem simple. Handwriting is almost super-human. So are his artistic skills: he draws perfect surface plots on the board like it's nothing. Emails grade charts after every exam. Fantastic prof!
