By far the best professor I've had at UBC. He's extremely engaging without using any slides or visual aid and he's a pioneer in the animal field field, with many of the concepts he teaches being researched and established by him. His passion for animal welfare is contagious as he describes personal experiences in the subject.

I have taken every one of David's classes (APBI 314, 315, 414) and they have all been amazing. He is a leader in animal welfare science and ethics, and makes all of his lectures engaging and easy to understand. Gives excellent feedback and will have lengthy discussions if you visit him in his office! We are lucky to have him at UBC.

David Fraser is one of my favourite professors at UBC. He cares for his students and his work, which shines through in his lectures. If anyone has taken courses with David, they would understand the level of passion he brings to the faculty. His courses would be worth taking just to listen to his experiences in the field.

LOVE Dr. Fraser. He's exactly what a professor should be, he literally wears tweed suits and has a pocket watch. He learns every single students name and knows animal welfare inside and out. The man has so much experience in his field and you can tell he is so passionate about what he's teaching. Also, he can do a mean Scottish accent.

David is an amazing prof. The amount of knowledge he holds will be more than I will ever learn in my life. The topics we discussed was interesting if you're into animal ethics (dont take the course if you dont like ethics). Dr. Fraser is one of my favourite profs at UBC and I would definitely take more of his classes.

Regret taking this course as an elective. He was very dull and often talked about topics that drifted from what we were assessed on. He didn't give any exams instead we had 2 papers, 1 take home midterm in the form of 3 paper topics, a take home final in the form of 3 paper topics and a partner presentation. I was so bored whenever he lectured!

Dr. Fraser is likely the best and most qualified professor I've had at UBC. Take this course if you are interested and passionate about animals and ethics. He will definitely inspire you about the topics and he is so knowledgable and respected world-wide he is exactly who should be teaching this course. Almost no homework, short essays as exams.

Don't take this class if you are not a good writer and researcher. I know many people do well in this course, but I personally found it very challenging and a lot harder than FNH350, CHEM233 and MATH104/105 courses. Instructions are a bit vague at times and TAs grade harshly. Exams are take home.

Dr. Fraser is one of the best profs at UBC. Definitely take a class with him! He truly cares about his students and learns everyone's name! Class has 3 assignments and a take home midterm/final, and a 3 minute current event speech. Also have field-trips used for bonus percents! Class topics were very interesting, especially if you love animals.

I've taken every single one of Fraser's classes and adore him. He is genuine, kind, and thoughtful. Very intelligent and loves to engage students in conversations in and out of class. He even donated $1000 to my team to help us attend a conference :) I go to his classes as I enjoy them, and truly learn rather than just for grades.
