Comment:
This was my first class with professor Weiss and I am so happy someone recommended him to me. His lectures are always on topic and are easy to follow along to. His lectures are based on practice problems, which is helpful. Tests may be challenging if you don't take the time to study, but he gives you chapter practice problems and practice exams.

Dr. Weiss does a lot to take a very difficult Chemistry class and give you the information and opportunities to get what you need. A lot of practice is given in class (with points to help your grade). Quizzes and exams are 100% authentic to what you are given and told to focus on. Perfect combo of content expert and good teaching methodology.

LOVED Dr. Weiss. He is very enthusiastic and genuinely wants students to succeed. He put us in groups to work on problems in lecture, and I kept that group for a whole schoolyear. Practice problems were helpful on tests and he was not one for throwing curve balls. Most of class was spent working on problems which really solidified the concepts.

Dr. Weiss makes the concept of chemistry more bearable. Although the material is difficult, he does his best to make himself available to all students who have any questions. A lot of the class is working through problems as a group and he is very helpful when explaining difficult things. I think he is a great professor and I highly recommend him!

Comment:
Anal Chem I is very similar to Gen Chem 2 for a majority of the semester, especially if you took it with Ruminski. Dr. Weiss is overall a very informative and clear teacher with examples in his notes that are very similar to test questions,as well as practice problems that are sometimes test questions. He does have awful handwriting though!

He is such an great nerdy teacher. His class was pretty much easy but if you had a hard time then you usually you could work together with the group that he kind of puts you in.

I read the comments and was kind of shocked. I thought he was an excellent teacher, he was a fun guy and really did a great job teaching. Compared to other Chem teachers, I'm sure you couldn't find any better. The course is pretty easy, you just have to actually study.

He is a very nice guy. I was always decent at chemistry, but this class was difficult for me. His lectures make little sense. I only learned from his example problems. He always has a sassy remark or doesn't completely answer if you ask a question. He provides many resources for help outside of class. Overall he's above average.

Weiss was awful. As others have said, he wasted a lot of time and he had extreme favoritism. He drove me batty, and thanks to him I have little interest in taking Chemistry any longer. He is USELESS.

Dr Weiss has been on of the best teachers i have had yet. Attendance isn't mandatory but there are a lot of clicker questions. His tests are based off the review problems he gives you and almost nothing from the text. He did A LOT of equations in class which helped a lot in understanding the material. Hard class but he's a good teacher

I took this CHEM 103 and I found it to be a real pain. Weiss wasted a lot of time by making dumb things like seating assignments and moving kids around. He was sometimes helpful. It was 50/50 depending on his mood. I was ignored many times when i asked. Homework wasnt too bad.It was all online. But overall, I would'nt recomend his chemistry class.

Face it Chemistry can be a difficult subject but Dr. Wiess made it totally easy to understand. I don't understand how someone could do poorly in his class. As long as you take notes and do the practice exams and problems you are golden. He is always available and willing to help. Overall GREAT professor!!!!
