Amazing professor. Really in love with poetry & knows what he's talking about. His class was so interesting & refreshing, I was so upset we had to change to online this semester. It was my first poetry class & I hope to take more with him. No HW, 3 papers. All basically reflections/opinions on poems. Fair grader. Show up to class & you'll be fine.

There are four papers in the class, so if you don't like writing then don't take it. The professor is enthusiastic about contemporary poetry, and encourages conversation during class. I would recommend this class for anyone with an interest in contemporary poetry not just english majors.

You are expected to turn in an original poem every week - he provides optional but fun prompts - and 3 essays during the semester. He makes it easy for his students to apply his criticisms to better their craft. Nice, laid back guy. You will leave the class a better writer, guaranteed. If you can't get into his class, K. Graber is amazing as well!

Interesting guy, fun class, very fun to listen do -- BUT -- for poetry wokshops, he needs help watching the clock!! Otherwise, some people will get 20 minutes and the rest just 5. That was annoying.

I don't think he really understands the new polyphonic chthonism, but he did help me understand why those white chickens were there.
