He is such a nice man but unfortunately that doesn't mean he is a good teacher. I found his instructions complicated and I couldn't always figure out the objective for the activity/assignment. Lectures were dull and it was often challenging to make the connection between what he wanted us to get out of the lesson and what he was lecturing about.

An extremely knowledgable, organized, and dedicated professor. Makes activities fun and worthwhile participating in. At times, however, he can drag on about the same point and also put forth thoughts that are irrelevant. With that being said, though, I would recommend taking any class he teaches, or take part in the India Field School like I did.

Don is a great proff teaching a great class. Workshop style of his class is extremely refreshing in this old, stale university we call sfu. Great back burner class, but if you put some effort in, you will get a lot out of it. Would recomend to anyone wanting to become a teacher.
