Loved his class and I am taking him again in the summer. His class is basically him telling stories to the class that have to do with the topic you're learning about. You have to show up to class to pass, you don't need a textbook, no tests, no quizzes, no homework. Youll only have papers due at the end of the semester.

Overall, I enjoyed Prof. Jacksons class. One thing i didn't like was being called on to answer tricky questions. Sometimes Jackson will be rude if you give an answer he doesn't agree with. You can tell students are annoyed when asked questions they don't know how to answer. Other than that the class is good and Prof. Jackson is a good professor

Professor Jackson's classes are different than other CJ classes. He doesn't use ppt's and talks about his views of the CJ system. He tries to call on every student multiple times per class. If you don't know the answer its best to just guess (No IDK's allowed). Overall, I really enjoy this class. Jackson makes students think instead of read ppts.

Jackson is a good professor, he doesn't use the text book so you don't have to buy it. He doesn't use powerpoints or write notes on the board. Attendance is important since he doesn't give mid terms and final is take home. He give great lectures and really enjoy his class. He does pick on students to speak and you can't say I don't know.

I regret taking this professor and I will never take him again. His teaching style is terrible and I have not learned one thing. He is completely unreasonable about the final and hes unorganized about assignments that are due. The semester is over now and things are due in 2 days and I still have yet to figure out where I can find the assignments

If you want to take a class for an easy A, take professor Jackson. Just show up and write the papers that he has due at the end of the semester and you'll get an A! He's been teaching for a really long time and even though his teaching style is a bit different, he's very knowledgable and knows what he's talking about. Don't expect to take notes.

I don't like Jackson at all; in my opinion I didn't think he taught anything about criminal justice and he just rants about irrelevant topics on whatever he wants to talk about and you HAVE TO speak when he picks on you to talk. You are not allowed to say I don't know. He doesn't use powerpoint, or textbook, he just talks and expects the class join

Absolutely love Jackson. He is by far my favorite professor on campus. Super easy to get a hold of and very personable and will help in any way he can. His classes are the only ones I really look forward to everyday. Would recommend his classes to everyone. Very little homework and no exams, be ready to laugh every class.

I wish I would have taken more of his courses earlier on in my schooling. Lectures are amazing. Jackson provides true wisdom and makes students think outside of the box on real life issues impacting the CJC field. I wish ALL CJC professionals can take a course from Jackson!

Dr. Richard Jackson is one of the Professors I wish I had found sooner. His teaching style is unique and impacting causing a definite change in one's life. He teaches analytical thought which is the way teaching is supposed to be and causes a student to think for themselves and not from the opinion of a textbook. Amazing teacher! A+ just show up.

I didn't like Jackson at all, I'm sure some did because we didn't do anything in class. We are forced to come because attendance is a huge chunk of our grade but I could have been doing something productive, instead I listened to him tell irrelevant stories. He calls on students but if he doesn't like what you said, he gets rude about it.

He seems like a really cool guy outside of class, but his teaching style is very annoying. He asks ASSANINE questions to get you "to think" then treats you like a moron if you don't agree with him. He likes to ask: "Is that racist?" a lot. If you take his class, just say yes and get it over with. Never been so happy for a class to end in my life!

All he does is talk about how smart he is, his kids and family are, or how many oral boards he has sat in on. He will ask you ridiculous questions to answer, as well as ignore you when you have a legitimate answer. He got 300k for suing the school and he will definitely make sure you know about it. Don't take if you want to learn something.

Prof. Jackson is great. Instead of forcing us to clog our brains with material and regurgitate it on a test, Jackson initiates class discussions. Jackson likes to talk about things many instructors forget to talk about like race, sexuality issues even current events that happen. He keeps it real. Lots of guest speakers! Textbook not required.

You'll get called on, and the more you hate being called on the more you'll get called on. Pay attention and you can learn a lot about your own values and how you interact with society. He seems confusing, but everything he says is for a reason.

This a professor that you need to understand.. If you are a student that needs power points, clear set schedule of class activities, etc then this professor is not for you.. If you like to talk about random (though on topic) stuff, and you must talk then you will enjoy his classes.. Attendance is a must, you don't show up, then you wont make it.

Show up and do the final you've got an A. If you are the type of student that needs a rigorous lesson plan everyday this is not the professor for you. You don't know what you are doing any given day and the class is purely discussion over a topic Jackson chooses. Speaking in class is not optional and he makes an effort to make everyone speak once.
