RUN. Do not take this professor. 10 textbooks, outlines on each one every week and only 10% of your grade. Exams are very specific to each philosopher, he is vague with what he wants and treats this course like it is a 400 level. His grading makes ZERO sense. Learned nothing and I wish I had dropped his class.

Really not bad at all. There is a lot of reading each week that you must annotate completely. Make it clear what page/chapter/section your annotation is from. The outlines are easy As. The exercises are easy and short; the case studies are a little longer, not hard. Apply yourself and it's an easy A. Don't plagiarize!!!

He is a very sweet, intelligent man. He is very challenging and assigns a lot of reading and outlines each week and grades them pretty tough. BUT if you'd like to benefit from a class and grow intellectually then you should definitely learn from him. He's humble and doesn't claim to be the smartest but he is excited to teach and open your mind.

Unclear as to how assignments should be done, gives term papers during finals week with unclear directions, expects more reading and homework done then a three credit class, gives multiple due dates for assignment per week (outlines due Mon, exercise due Weds), lectures in a very monotone voice. DRINK LOTS OF COFFEE AND DO NOT TAKE ONLINE CLASS!!!!

It's better to take the in-class lecture than the online class. Very unclear about his expectations for homework/classwork. DONT TAKE IT ONLINE. It takes a while to understand what he is looking for, but once you do, it gets a lot easier. You must do the readings and try to get a good grasp on them.

You have to turn in weekly outlines so you basically have to read ALL the books. He'll give you an F on the outline if he thinks you used spark notes or whatever online resource which I don't recommend doing because you'll also lose his respect. He's a very nice man and enjoyable to talk to but he does talk the whole 3 hours during lecture.

He does talk the entire lecture time. You dont need the books. If you use his study guides and go to the midterm/ final review. You'll do fine. He is really nice and passionate about the subject. He will do anything to help you understand. There is also a large curve at then end of the semester.

The class itself is pretty boring if you are not into the subject, and he does just talk for the whole class. But Dr. Ross is VERY nice and will answer any questions of confused students (which there WILL be) He has 2 tests and 1 paper, but he holds study sessions outside of class time for students who need it.
