Comment:

Lectures are interesting and I didn't think the tests were too bad. About a third true/false, multiple choice, and free response. Study what you actually do in class for the test; homework was usually a lot different. Overall a friendly guy and is easily accessible outside class. Save yourself pain and take PHY 1 & 2 here instead of Clemson.

His lectures are completely different than what is on any test. It is almost impossible to study his lectures effectively to be able to pass. Khan Academy or Chegg will be your best bet for a study method.

Dr. Winkler is a solid prof. He teaches effectively and will make sure that anyone who wants to understand does. His tests reflect the homework and are challenging but designed so that good students should end up with good grades.

Mr. Winkler is the best Physic professor ever. He does problem until everyone get the material. He curve test if nobody make a 100. Always get extra credit on the test. His test are challenging but overall a good professor. His test are concept base instead of pure calculation so be ready to study. Take home test are available if class get behind.

Winkler is one of the best profs I've ever had, hands down. He does his best to make sure you understand the concepts taught. Learning physics was so fun under him. If you pay attention to his examples and do the homework correctly, you will have no trouble passing the class.

Mr. Winkler is a solid choice. His grading is clear, he provides multiple examples to match the criteria within the textbook. His tests are pretty difficult, so make sure you understand the concepts of the problems and not just memorize how to do them. Mr. Winkler gives partial credit where he can too which helps! All around good guy and funny too.

Donny is a super great guy and is a great teacher. BUT! His examples and homework problems don't expose you to the type of questions the test will ask. I mean this in the way it's laid out, the process, etc. After his examples and homework, you pick up a feel for things. Well there's been a lot of questions that just completely blind side you.

I loved Winkler!! If you go to class and take good notes, a B isn't hard at all. Actually study and do your homework, and an A is very feasible. He has a really great teaching style for physics. He's also a pretty lenient grader - he'll give you partial credit where he can. He's SO funny and just a good guy in general. Take him!

Incredibly nice and humorous man. Goes on tangents almost constantly, which can be funny but very frustrating. He doesn't always spend much time teaching or solving problems in class, and his tests are unbelievably hard.

Loved the class. Some people weren't as happy as I was though. He goes on tangents during lectures which can actually be entertaining and somewhat informative.

Donny is sweet, but the material is unbelievably difficult. He solves problems a little too quickly and doesn't take time to elaborate unless asked by a student. His tests are SUPER difficult, and often the amount of time you put into the class won't be reflected by your grade. He's great, but really just avoid Physics if you can.

Donny Winkler is awesome! He is laid back, explains things in detail, and answers all questions. We had a hilarious time talking about some of the past scores he has received on RMP that were ridiculous. Hes a knowledgeable professor with a humorous side that keeps the class interesting. He is an awesome teacher! He knows his stuff. He does tend to go through the class examples very fast, so make sure you keep up and write everything he puts on the board down. For the tests, go to SI, and look at the mock exams. Also, make sure you do all of the online homework as best as you can.

DR. WINKLER IS THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! HE IS SO SMART AND WANTS ALL OF HIS STUDENTS TO DO WELL. I AM IN ANOTHER CHEMISTRY CLASS NOW AND THE ONLY REASON I AM DOING HALF WAY DECENT IS BECAUSE OF THE NOTES I KEPT FROM DR. WINKLERS CLASS! PAY ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING HE SAYS BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THE TEST IS ON! WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING!! :)
