Easily one of the best professors i've ever had. He is very understanding if you genuinely have a problem with the notes or outside of class. No cumulitive final exam which is great, but the tests have essays so make sure your writing skills are good enough to have minimal gramatical errors. If you do, he offers practice essay help. Goofy guy

Three essay tests and a ten--page research paper. Grades on grammar. Lectures are interesting and often run a few minutes over class time. Will grade practice essays before tests. Book only used for extra credit.

TANGENTS make notes confusing, talks2fast,tough grammar gradr, sends SEVERAL HEAVY books each class period, weird pronounciations to make himself sound smarter, weird dancing, and I didnt learn anything worth remembering. But I could have looked passed ALL of these annoying things if he just didn't go over class time 8min EVERY class(not exaggerating).

Dr. Young is a lecture-heavy professor. He grades essays very strictly, but he allows students to bring practice essays to him and he will show you what you would make if the essay were on a test. In my class, tests were made up of 2 essays worth 25 points each and 25 questions worth two points. Most tests have up to 25 possible bonus points each.

Its a straight forward government course. He gives a study guide and you go down the study guide to prepare for a test. He gets off topic a lot and often is repetitive when lecturing over a simple topic. He also does these weird Friday things that arent related to class such as going over STDs. Hello its government? He gives lots of extra credit

Hands down the BEST professor in my college career. He is very funny and patient and extremely passionate. He also does a very good job staying middle of the road in his American government class, making sure to not side one way or the other but to give us very unbiased information to make our decisions. Key to getting an A is take good notes.

Best teacher!! I loved him! You have to take own notes they aren't posted online at all thats the only bad part. He is caring and funny! Test are 50/50 you have half the test multiple choices and true and false and fill and the blank and then the other half is you have to write two essays. But you will do great in the class if you do the work!

Dr. Young is such a great professor. He gives 3 tests and a paper. He provides everything you will need on the tests if you show up and take notes because he is strictly oral lecture. He tells you all the essays you will have to write and will practice grade them for you before the test to see how you would have done.

Definitely take Young if you want an easy class. He is very lecture heavy but gives a study guide with everything that will be covered on each test. As long as you take good notes during lecture and following the study guide, you will get an A. Young gives you the essay questions that are on the test and the answers to them. Highly recommend

Dr. Young is a fun, quirky little guy. He is a strictly lecture class, no PPT or anything. So write lots of notes. Gives lots of extra credit on the tests and otherwise too. Test extra credit is the only time you need the book. Show up to class and pay attention and it's a pretty easy class (I think I ended with over a 100 average).

Lectures are very interesting. He provides a simple study guide at the beginning of the semester. If you come to class and take good notes then you will have all the information you need for his test. He only had three test for the spring 2017 semester but he offers a ton of extra credit! He's a very caring professor!

Professor is caring and funny. His lectures are moderate, he sometimes get off track or rambles on but if you ask, he will clarify. He provides a study guide and pretty much tells us what is on the test. Just take good notes and study. He only had 3 exams for Spring 2017 semester but had plenty of extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Young is very eccentric, but that is just one of many things that make his class a treat. Classes are by no means an easy A (he grades essays very hard). but his enthusiasm for the material percolates to his classes. Brings in all sorts of cool things to aid in his lectures and he is always available in his office. Take him, you won't regret it

Loves teaching. Brings all kind of weird stuff to class. Like Cuban cigars or his FBI files. Very energetic. You always know when he is teaching because you can hear him shouting from classrooms nearby. Real great guy all around. Worth taking just for the experience.

Dr. Young is great! He really tries to keep the class upbeat and make it more interesting. His "friday follies" are cheesy but puts the class in a good mood. He gives a LOT of extra credit so there is no excuse for a grade other than an A or a B. You must listen in class and take notes because he tells you what the essays are and important parts.

Dr. Young is very intelligent and passionate about his job. He lectures over at least 5 mins every class. Don't miss class because he gives a lot of material. He makes himself very accessible to his students, answers emails quickly, and wants his students to succeed. Main thing on his tests are the 2 essays. Do well on those, especially grammar.

3 test and a paper. Wants you to get to point-do not try to impress with big words/metaphors-state facts. He is a genius and if you have questions about test he will tell you exactly what he would accept as an answer. Not impossible class but not kindergarden show up and get an A. Makes you want to be a better student. Highly recommend
